Rant time: this mission/ gig talent academy in phantom liberty in dog Town actually made my stomach feel awful and tommie, genuinely made me cry not just bc I share his last name, odd detail, but bc he’s like actually sad and just wants to make his father happy, its sad hits home a little and like damn, make me just wanna adopt him into the caldos or sum give em a good life but yea, obviously had to go with the option that gives him a bright future but like damn this mission is just depressing #justice_for_tommie and screw Fiona, and this whole center, I’d blow it sky high if I could save tommie in the process but eh cdpr gives few happy endings and tommies gonna get one.

Everytime I play this mission it ends the same, no one left down there.
Tbh I killed her the first time but I know I’ll have to do this mission again sometime soon, and I have no idea whether or not to leave her alive.
On one hand she is sick trying to profit off of these kids and modifying their body before they’re like 15,
On the other hand I doubt any of these kids were even remotely well off before they were brought into this program and I struggle with possibly having these kids sent to the street, because being poor in Night City is a fate worse than death
Yeah… the writers for Phantom Liberty really knew how to punch us in the gut with the quests and honestly, it feels fitting for the kind of world Cyberpunk 2077 is.
I was reminded of a quest in the game Shadowrun Dragonfall where you can meet an npc couple talking about buying cybernetic implants for their son. You can interrupt and ask why they would do such a thing, especially when kids will eventually outgrow the implants. So in the world of Shadowrun Corpos, kids being cybered up helps ensure they have good grades and have a better chance of eventually climbing up the Corpo ladder. If not well hope they like having a lowly position like a Janitor.
Deus Ex Human Revolution also has a somewhat similar quest but for an adult npc and it essentially boils down to I need my implants to do my job.
There are a couple missions I definitely did not like.
The Hunt makes me more sick tbh. i dread replaying that mission for 100%
This was the mission where I staryed my turn towards aligning with Johnny. Up to this point, I didn’t like him at all and wanted him to just shut up. I was legit happy Songbird silenced him.
But this? Seeing them put on display like products. Feeding off their dreams for corpo profits while turning them in to addicts and cripples. I wanted to burn it to the ground and impale that lady and her staff on stakes in front of the ruins.
I figured Johnny might have a point or 2 and started warming up to him. By the end of PL, he and I became chooms.
I got interrogated at the bar so I just started blasting
Idk. They don’t know it but we’re doing them a favor.
I camt wait to bring my heavy berserker LMG V to the place and show those shits what I really think about the exploitation of children. We already know what happened to woodman, his office got a new coat of paint
What’s even worse is when you find Tommy later tbh
Save Tommy, doom a hundred more just like ’em.
