Next up, Gmail lawsuit (it’s the last one for my bingo sheet. If Google sheets goes before Gmail I’ll be sad.

  2. the_abortionat0r

I get the joke but nobody in tech misunderstood incognito mode.

That said, thats the least of the lawsuit. You should read the most damning parts.

    Imagine using Chrome

~~(bet private mode Firefox users were also spied on as it is not about the browser but about the website)~~

I sleep well at night knowing that although i may or may not have looked at some weird stuff at some point, theres always someone whos weirder than me so i aint of interest to whoever trawls through that data

Eating up all your data. What else is new.

  6. Individual-Match-798

One of the reasons I’m not using Chrome

  7. Nullifier_

Luckily I stopped using chromium browsers like 2 years ago (I use Firefox as my main browser)

Best part is that the settlement is for $5 billion for violation of privacy of individuals who won’t get a penny of that settlement

    1. That’s really not what incognito mode is for. It’s mostly to avoid people with physical access to your device to be able to access your data, and to use sites without previously stored data (cookies)

    2. Google probably doesn’t even think that’s a fine, but treats it as the price for the data harvested. When you’re rich enoguh you get away with anything

  10. Siusiumajtek

Honest question, what are people looking for in the incognito mode? Is it really that bad?

  11. Drake0074

Basically it only hides that stuff from yourself or anyone else looking at your PC.

  12. grea_reisen

    1) whom they pay lawsuit to?

    2) Didn’t they already wrote it on incognito page that incognito doesn’t save you from internet provider and website host.

  13. vengirgirem

Am I the only one who has never used incognito mode?

  14. giganticwrap

I prefer Microsoft stealing my data tbh.

  15. Foreign_Spinach_4400

I use opera gx, probably the same thing but afaik, they havent been sued… yet

  16. GamerXP27

i never used incognito mode for private searching more for uhm other types of stuff.

  17. Lostboxoangst

I don’t even use incognito mode my history is open to all.

  18. ZzangmanCometh

So maybe a settlement based on how fucked up the shit you’ve been looking at is? How rich are you gonna get?

  19. Crack_Pipe_Craig

Yeah that’s cool and all, but where is the 5 bajillion schmeckles going.

  20. Simple_Mongoose1680

I’m a Google employee, and I find all the best porn videos by searching through y’alls browser history. You lot watch some serious gourmet shit.

  21. iggster_14

And once again (going off the title here, i don’t know the details) stupid wins…

  22. Mr_Teyepo

You guys honestly think they didn’t take that data? Only reason I use Incognito is to not have the suggestion bar be embarrassing and to not have to bother clearing out cookies and browsing history lol

  23. mighty_dub

Never used it. When I type F in my browser, I want that option to quickly google furry midget pr*n. History is useful that way.

  24. username78777

Jokes on you, I watch c0rn without incognito

  25. SlothThoughts

” yea , we did and we gonna pay the 5 billion……now 20 billion or we release everything about every one of you. “

  26. Royal_Spell1223

the sheer shock of people when a multibillion dollar company doesn’t stop selling your data even when they name something “incognito”

(ffs people, I’m disappointed in you, this ain’t Tor)

  27. Foreign_Language167

You should be using something open source these days like brave or Firefox.

  28. gabscapuccino

i only use it for stupid questions, so..

  29. Avience404

If they collect info on my midget porn addiction than sure.

  30. No-Computer-2847

Yeah I don’t use incognito mode because I’m worried about Google. Unless Google is asleep upstairs while I’m trying to crack one out, anyway.
