I thought it looked cool when I first saw it. I wasn’t really expecting the final model to look like this but I wouldn’t have minded. It has its own look.
I would prefer this over the current design. I just don’t like its look.

And I remember getting ripped to pieces coming over to r/PS5 from my little specialist tech forum posing all the reasons it was never going to be the production version. I got torn to pieces, the negative comments were hilarious “Your [sic] a dumbfuck and are ruining my dreams.”
The V shaped exhaust fins are made to stack one devkit on another without interfering with cooling..a problem a consumer doesn’t have so for me it was impossible to see that design in the actual console
I wonder why the designs of the release model and the dev kit are so different. Correct me if I’m wrong, but all previous Playstations had their dev kits look like normal consoles, just bigger and fatter to accommodate for all the dev tools I suppose. This looks nothing like the PS5 we have right now

It looks like a Xenomorph PS5
Looks like a Photoshop mock-up you would see in a YouTube video from 2007.
The size of it was pretty spot on.. just in the wrong direction.
