I was guilty of this xD

My first PC that I built myself had a Phanteks P300 case and the back side-panel definitely was guilty of this.

It had a horrible latching mechanism.

  2. I always flop my pc on a side, so i can put the pannels on without any struggle.

But there’s still struggle sadly due to rough cable management & lack of space. [Corsair 450D]

Too real, I’m using an montech air 1000 premium , is has an descent space for cable management, but my psu has one of the most stiff cables I’ve ever saw, after an hour fighting with then and shoving anything extra besides the HDD cage, the side panel closed without looking stuffed

There are 3 phases of the back panel installing process

1:”Hmm its not working this way, lets try an other angle”

2:”A KÚRVA ANYÁD, NENNY MÁ RÁ TE SZAAAAR”

3:”Meh, the back panel isnt that important”

As someone who only has a single pc for three years and is addicted to watching gamer nexus..I feel somewhat attacked here lol

I’m actually terrified of building my own pc hence why I have a pre-built as my first

Depending on the case, installing a radiator can be a massive pain

  7. If the cable management is decent and you still struggle with putting on the side panel then the case is poorly designed like the Fractal Torrent Compact for example

If I could have a couple more mm of clearance in the back, maybe a additional cable channel, and a cure for Mt severe adhd…I’d have perfect cable management. But honestly the more clean and buttoned down it is, the more of a pain in the ass when inevitably have to tear it down for a repair or clean.

Stuffing all my cables into the side panel and hoping it doesn’t bulge

am i the only one not struggling with side panels at all? only thing that bothers me is that i need like 20sec for the 4 screws…

much harder to reach the gpu click mechanism to release it in my little room

my back side panel is bowed out because of the cables and lack of cable management channels…

the worst part is that its a glass side panel…

To be fair, plugging the front panel cables was a pain in the ass for me, in fact i’m somehow missing a USB connector and (knowingly) the audio jacks.

Thankfully i have a dual chamber case and closing it uo wasn’t such a challenge

if the goddam computer could just suck on its guts for a fucking second I could seal up this abomination

I’ve never upvoted a post faster

TIL that this is a common struggle that I was unaware of lol. I’ve never run into an issue with the back panel. Though I will admit that I once got a cooler that was too big to latch the front panel lol. That sucked

I think that searching y It doesn’t run (the ps is off) is even more difficult.

  17. Especially if cable management isn’t done in the back. Shoving those cables and closing it is the real challenge lol

  18. Fine_Relationship614

It’s not putting the side on that I have a problem with.. it’s leaving it on. Seems like I always find some reason to go back in and tinker with something!

What people think is difficult: this post

What is actually difficult: acquiring PC components.

  20. Achillies2heel

I just took it off and turned it to face the wall it’s an exhaust side anyway.

  21. Fragger-3G

I think all the Fractal North owners are feeling this one rn.

    I know I am

  22. Only_Future3588

If you had actually assembled a PC would know that what’s actually difficult is assembling the front panel

  23. Remarkable-Basket-38

I agree but harder than that is the cable management

    Runners up:

    1. closing the cpu lid. why does it take so much force?!
    1. Depending on mobo putting ram sticks in. I swear I only had to check 3 times the damn thing was in the right spot because of how hard I had to press.

  25. Jealous-Soft-3171

I have cleaned my new case 3 times now and every time I almost blow a gasket trying to put side panel back on cause I’m a moron
