Why does my fan have a radiation warning on it?

I don’t think they know what the symbol means xD

Calm down buddy. It’s just a fan logo.

    Made in China

    It’s not a radiation warning.

Warning signs are ALL triangular with a symbol. That’s how you know they are indeed warning signs.

It’s probably as false as the CE symbol.

  5. I don’t think it’s meant to be a radio active symbol. I forget what you call those motors but it has 3 magnets that spin in a wheel of copper wire that creates a electric magnet field. Causing the fan to spin. I’m sure it’s supposed to be a description of that but this is just a wild guess

I know ElectroBoom has a video about these motors.

Edit) so I have it backwards really, here’s a link to Madhi explaining it: https://youtu.be/lV8iPKY-3ms?si=PWbLbqX0fOXTKyXe

Edit2) check out this other video from him(I time stamped it at the end with the silly visualization of a 3 phase electric motor): https://youtu.be/u6tafIJ6Z6c?t=464

Some industrial fans use beta emitters in the brushes to improve rotor contact. It is also self-contradictory because brushless DC fans have switching brushes. I do not believe that there is any radioactive material here, though, and even if there is, it is very weakly emitting. But I’d still consider getting it tested. If the measurement shows more than 0.5 uSv/h on close contact, it is a slight reason for concern, but still within norms, as chances are there would be no measurable difference from background dose rate 1 ft away

It’s a radial fan, blades radiate from the centre. That’s the radiation it’s warning you about.

might have some radiation included by recycled material?

Grab geiger counter and teest it. I bet you it will go off. Lol

Have any Redditors even tried some radiation? It’s just like sugar, salt, fat etc. Too much of it is bad, just don’t overdo it and you’ll be fine.

It also has the fake CE mark. I wouldn’t put a lot of confidence on any of the other symbols.

Just so we’re clear: next to the “radiation” symbol there is a CE symbol. And it’s not “european certificate”, it’s “china export” xD

Google up the difference, it’s hilarious in a way.

Likely to warn you of radiation

It has a radiation symbol and a fake CE mark, I would not trust it, the CE is some sort of European certification, while this, with the C and E this close together, is not.

they sourced the copper wire from Chernobyl
