If you have it activated and they help you do it it should count even if they did it before.
It’s your mission only. Matchmaking doesn’t care what mission you and your teammates are on, it’s just random. The likelihood of being matched with someone on the same mission as you is extremely unlikely.
That’s not to say your teammates won’t help you if you ask.
