Skull & Bones is the epitome of “you had **ONE** job!!”
Seriously, the blueprints were right f****ing there! *points to black flag* and they threw that out the window to pursue the live service zeitgeist. I mean, they literally could have just reskinned Black Flag, removed the Assassin’s Creed and call it a day yet they couldn’t even manage to do that.
To say it’s wasted potential is putting it mildly. To add insult to injury and what’s most offensive to me is that the original build of Skull & Bones before development got rebooted was exactly what everyone wanted: A Single Player Sandbox Pirate RPG with some elements of Nautical Folklore. Oh what could have been. I can only imagine trying to fight off sirens while my crew is being seduced by them or tracking down the most infamous pirate lords of the 7 seas dreaming to come out on top or pray you don’t ever come across the Kraken; bombarding your ship and dragging it down 10,000 leagues under the sea
We need a Mount & Blade-esque game but for 17th century piracy. Until then, I’ll just continue playing Black Flag and Sid Meier’s Pirates.
Ubisoft deserves nothing less than the Black Spot and to be sent down to Davy Jones’ locker.
Everyone hates suicide squad but can’t keep the game out their mouth. Hm funny that.

Imagen the AAA industry being so toxic that people are playing games from 10 years ago and these games actually play better then the games today!
I don’t trust AAA anymore, I haven’t since no man’s skys (which ended up a good game) so much lies and fake adverisement, so much half jobs and monetisation… what’s the point of owning a $60-70 game? “We should get used to not owning their games?” Ah! Good point! We should not own any AAA games! Let’s only “own” indie 😉

Guilty.
Literally just beat NG+ for Arkham Knight 5 minutes ago.

Well yeah… It seems like some devs don’t understand that once a game is released it doesn’t disappear into the ether. New game competitions isn’t just other new games but also all the previous ones as well. They don’t just go away. Black Flag is excellent pirate game first and foremost just like how Arkham Knight is an excellent Batman game.
People don’t just stop playing single player games like what happens with multiplayer when they pull the plug.
And also graphics stop mattering like it was in 80s and 90s, ever since like 2005ish all graphics in all games pretty much look “good” (and especially since 2010s) so there are not much to gain at all by having newer graphics..

Not gonna lie, I thought hard about booting up BF. But I am still trying to catch up with a handle of other big games and don’t have the time to take that on again

It’s almost like… If you make a good game, then remind people that said game was good, they’ll go play it, but that banking on nostalgia to market an objectively terrible game which mimics its predecessors without understanding why they were good doesn’t work.

Funny enough every streamer got money to promote both games

Wow, a whole 5000 people.
Assassin’s Creed went downhill after Black Flag.
