She tries to liberate Clouds only to be betrayed at the end and the workers are in an arguably worse place than before. Even when romancing her its at the edge of her former home now devastated by flood and pollution she can only see again with significant protection. She only breaks down after all that in your arms… provided you’re a lesbian/bi-pan woman who wants to be with her too

Kerry, I’ve always felt so bad for him. Panam has the aldecaldos, River has his sister and her kids, Judy has her grandparents and some friends in the Mox and clouds. Kerry literally has no one, like he makes friends with the Us Cracks, but that’s hardly the same as family like the others have. The guy had been through a rough divorce, having his his best friend who he loved die. His whole career was falling down around him. And he was severely depressed and suicidal on top of that.
Second is Judy, as her grandparents are far away from NC, and she experiences some horrid things from the whole Evelyn arc.
Then River, the stuff with his nephew was horrific, but they survived the whole thing and ultimately became closer as a family.
Then Panam, love her to bits, but even though she has her spats with Saul its nothing Truamatic. The war vets make it clear they have her back and support her. The scorpion stuff was rough, but she had stable people around to support her. Aaaaand it’s not quite the same as seeing your best friend dead in your own home or finding your kidnapped nephew being tortured.
