  1. So sad all those Sony people lost their jobs. How will they make The Last of Us: Part 2 Remake: Part 2 now???

  2. Ralph just let Skull & Bones go.. we don’t care about that “I Can’t Recommend Skull & Bones For Everybody…” video lol

  3. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Studios that put out great fun games that people like are hiring. The AAA studios that have put out decades of mediocrity are having layoff while Palworld and Helldivers 2 keep hiring. This is the system working correctly. Bad decisions lose while good decisions win.

  4. Imagine if there was another platform and customer base available to Sony???

It’s only a matter of time in my opinion.

  5. Guardians of the Galaxy (played because of your recommendation) was killer. Sad we likely wont get another one

  6. i was one of the redundancies of the recent months and i can tell you i have never seen more heads planted in the palmso f their hands then the last few months, people unsure how to pay rent or having to move back home (im UK based), managerial staff dont understand how badly these things affect people and its always somehow that managerial staff is safe and those boots on the ground get sacked the ones actually making the games.

i hope this ends soon but do expect a ton of indie studios made by senior staff (me included) love you all we love making games and hope you guys love playing them

  7. Let me get this straight, you led this video with the doom and gloom announcement that Sony is laying off 1900 people, despite Microsoft laying off 22,000 people two weeks ago, and buried the news that Xbox has quit and gone third party to a quick mention at 14:00 in? That is some weird handling of some historic news…

  8. Nightingale had some really interesting ideas, hopefully it improves in the future and it do I'll give it a go

  9. I hope this is a quiet reduction in their investment in developing live service games but the cynical part of me assumes that it's just them dealing with post-acquisition redundancy.
The closure of the London studio is just awful.

  10. There should be a law that is you’re doing business in the US that if a company is planning layoffs they must first lower the salaries of the companies top earners and if a company does do layoffs the top earners cannot get pay raises for at least 3 years

  11. More people are playing Half Life 1, a game from 1998, than there are playing Suicide Squad. 1300+ players playing a single-player non live service game from 1998. And barely 600 playing Suicide Squad…

  12. Just want to throw out there that Miyazaki said he wouldn't comment on a Bloodbourne remake/remaster because From doesn't own the IP

  13. It's been a long time since I've watched a Jim Sterling video and apparently I've missed a lot since then, but one of the major common narratives in his channel was about the sustainability (or lack thereof) of the live service market due to the overwhelming amount of corporate greed behind all of these AAA companies. I think we've finally reached that point, and like you said, probably just the start.

  14. Hopefully most of the cuts were DEI “””Officer””” parasite. That an absolutely NOTHING to gaming, juts more overhead and censorship

    Money talks, bullshit walks 🤷🏻‍♂️

  15. If you are a fan of ARPGs and disappointed with D4 and/or scared by POE’s complexity, do yourself a favor and check out Last Epoch.

  16. I cant wait for that PC port of FF7 Rebirth. I want it so badly!!!

I almost 100 percented the remake, but i really didnt care for "dress to the nines".

  17. I just don't get the casting choice for Tiny Tina. She sounds so mundane and unthusiastic. Then there's Claptrap sounding off, no shade thrown at Jack. They could of at least got the original VA to do Claptrap. It just looks .. meh.

  18. I wonder how many of the 600 players in suicide squad are shareholders? I wonder if they even know they’re investors in a game company? 😂😂

  19. I almost choked on my drink laughing at Kingmakers. Man I miss the old days when games took a ridiculous concept and just ran with it. Remember the sports car in Age of Empires?

  20. i might be out of the loop, but did Nintendo layoff anyone? Nintendo sells their consoles for a profit. they make games that dont really push things graphically or even have mocap/voice acting a lot of the time. not exactly highly cinematic…. maybe xbox and Sony needs to step back and look at these devs making smaller games but having huge success. look at games like palworld or even helldivers 2 (sure sony helped with some funding but it wasnt their studio). like maybe scale down your games and make a fun game.

  21. A Twisted Metal live service could have unironically been really successful if done right. Im a little surprised by that cancellation.

  22. Skillup left out a major gameplay change for Shadow of the Erdtree. They are implementing a Seikero-like power system. So you won't be able to take your level 300 Elden Ring character into the DLC and steam roll everything. You'll actually need to go out and explore and fight to power up so you won't feel like you are fighting an Abrahm's tank with a rusty pocket knife.

  23. People are not playing SS until the multiplayer is fixed. It's been over a month and practically no one can play with each other. Its current state is that it's a single player game that requires online to play XD.

Played it for 80hrs so far, but not being able to play with friends or clanmates sucks hard.

  24. The problem with the game industry right now is the they keep making games like Suicide Squad and seem to forget that people have to eat and have a place to live to play games. They can't seem to get that if you spend years making a bad game you are not entitled to make money off of it. Also there is only so much money people are willing to spend on live service games and there are only so many slices to that pie.

Definitely wrong casting on the Borderlands movie, but that looks like only the start of the bad ideas for it.

  25. The nightingale probably made the mistake of thinking they needed to police players cheesing by going offline to mod/hack and then go to multiplayer with that stuff.

Just make single player characters and multiplayer only characters.
