I would substitute the 24 pin with the fucking 8 pin EPS, especially when you’re new to building and you build everything and then you have to plug THAT cable. And you realize you should’ve have done that from the get go as soon as the motherboard was in place.

Clearly you’ve never build a PC before plug&play. Setting a dozen jumpers correctly based on how you wired and connected the components was tricky. Now the Bios just auto detects everything and enthusiast PC building has become about aesthetics.

Uhhh, okay imma rant a lil bit, why do people take so much time to build a pc, i just dont get it. When i built mine, literally out of random parts, i was lucky enough they were compatiple + everything worked together.(i know a fair bit about pcs and building them) ive had a single case since i was about 13(im 22now) and still have the same case just different components in. Had a sapphire 7900 something and a 2 core amd processor. Damn the pc sucked but then i got a 3600 and also a 1070 oc and dually ram which is literally faster than a gaming laptop and im still i shock how some random parts work better together than what most choose for their builds. Fuck compatibility, go for max power. 😉

Suckers. My most recent build is in the honkin fractal torrent with solid aluminum (steel?) side panels. Tons of room, easy to work in, can’t see inside it. No crazy LEDs, I can barely even tell it’s on because of how quiet and dark it is. Cable management? Moved the cables as best I could out of the airflow paths and slapped the panels on. Looks beautiful. Sounds beautiful. Runs beautifully.

Building a pc isn’t really difficult at all. Almost guaranteed you will mess up the front panel connectors but that’s all

I feel like when I my friend took me aside and taught me how to build a PC, he did a great job. Showed me how to manage and figure out where all the different types of cables go, how to use the Mobo manual to locate everything. Now I don’t really struggle with these types of connectors, unless I scrape my knuckles.

Apparently there weren’t any more mounting brackets on my PC so currently my second, larger 4tb hard drive is just lying on the floor of my PC.

I had to double and triple check my mobos manual to make sure the connections were right. It’s really not that hard, just tedious. PC are just big fucking Lego sets

For me – the worst part is mounting the cooler with even pressure (i only built 2 pcs – for me and my friend)
For the first time it legit took me 10 minutes

Honestly it’s not that hard. It’s mostly time consuming, especially if you haven’t done this before. Most of the time goes in double checking and remember your wire management plan

Don’t get me wrong, but if you can’t handle 24pin ATX and front panel, you should not try to build your own, and stay as far as you can from PC internals
