For how many of you this is the most stupid moment in game? Like, really? I totally see it, yet can’t even pull my gun and shoot him…

It got me my first time. Completely caught off guard

Man I would kill for the original cinematic trailer course of events.

    You should probably activate Windows.

Then again, using unlicensed software is weirdly “cyberpunk” in its own way.

Bro go pay for windows already.

They spoiled this part of the game with the cinematic trailers, losing Jackie and being double-crossed by Dex would have been so much more impactfull if they didn’t spoil it before the game was even released.

It’s fine. Happens in….every game ever. So I’m kinda used to it.

One playthrough I just stood on the opposite side of the room from the bathroom and waited. You get got anyways and its even more annoying that getting sucker punched.

It’s stupid, but it’s understandably stupid rather than needlessly stupid.

If you want an example of needless stupidity, look to *Diablo IV*. Late in the game, >!Lorath makes a deal with the Tree of Names to find out where the Armies of Hell are marching; in exchange, his head will be taken by the Tree when he dies and he will spend eternity hanging from it. This is needlessly stupid because Lorath is presented to the player as wise and experienced in these matters, and it becomes really obvious where the armies are about five minutes later.!< In other words, he makes an unnecessary sacrifice to uncover information that he could easily find out through other means and which he is supposedly smart enough to know.

This, however, is understandably stupid. By this point, V has been repeatedly warned about Dex and it was heavily implied that he turned tail and ran from the Pacifica job that T-Bug helped him with. But in the space of one day, V has gone from having their head in the clouds with the promise of being a living legend in Night City to being completely in over their head when Saburo is murdered and suffering the loss of their closest friend. V doesn’t even have time to grieve for Jackie, and they’re still clearly in shock when they enter the hotel room. As stupid as their actions are, they’re not needlessly stupid. It’s totally understandable for V to be in the state that they’re in.

I love this part, it shows how murderous V has become

The first time I played I didn’t expect this betrayal

I just pretend I’m blinded by any logic in the moment cus I just had my best friend die basically in my arms, then I’m taking bullshit from Dex and his goon. I always punch the mirror in the bathroom before walking out. Try to help myself sell the “blind” side that happens. After the first time playing it out.

She’d be dead In a trash heap if not for Takamura so V (players entire game experience) depended on that one character

I had Sandy installed yet couldn’t use it to avoid being shot in the head by Dex.

V at least somewhat trusted Dex at that point in the game, combined with the anxiety and stress of narrowly escaping, losing your best friend, and having to go on the run all within what, an hour or two?

I get it has to happen for the plot to move forward but it’s super annoying how naive V is. Especially Corpo V, it’s made very clear that you shouldn’t just trust Fixers especially Dex. I wish they were able to have a different route that managed to still loop back into the main story. At least give the illusion of choice
