  4. Zealousideal_Mix5043

I done payed extra for the non rugby version of my ram.

  5. My whole setup: ~14k

RGB cost: ~350€ which is around 2,5% of total cost.

Seems like I’m the exact opposite of what you consider an average PCMR redditor.

4 sticks rgb ram, $250 white mobo, 9 Lian Li infinity fans, $250+ aio with rgb fans and lcd screen, 1000w PSU (or IED PSU) $200 all glass case to show off their 12100f and white rog 4060 asking if it was a good purchase

  7. Mike_Honcho42069

I have never understood the whole RGB all over the damn place. Like, if you don’t have all the RGB, you won’t need I giant PSU. 🤷‍♂️

  8. CarlWellsGrave

I wouldn’t call those Lian li fans aesthetics.

If you’re already using high end hardware, go wild I guess. But when I see a 1000 dollar build using a full RGB fan setup with an overkill AIO I cry a little. You could’ve had something noticeably more powerful. Bonus tears for if a shit-tier PSU is used.

My computer case is a basic corsair 7,000D and I use a wire storage rack for my desk.

  11. NoseInternational740

But what about The Fractal Noooorth 🙂

  12. JACKVK07

After my CPU and GPU is outshined by the next gen I will still have BLING

  13. ancientemblem

I can’t really say shit, although my current specs are ok I just play StarCraft, LoL, and Dota so it ends up being a waste lol.

One day i shall buy rtx 4090 but for now christmas lamps are enough

  15. Vhirsion

Tiktok kids after buying a 4060 Aero instead of a 7900 XTX so they have money left for their O11 Dynamic and Lian Li accessoires

  16. Inflatable-Chair

You guys cant seem to understand that some people just want to pay more for aesthetics

  17. etheran123

I may have more money in Philips hue stuff than my GPU is worth lol

  18. GammaSmash

The only aesthetic thing I’ve ever understood is clean cable management (which I’m NOT good at). I used to play a lot in the wee hours of the morning, and I didn’t like having a rave going in my living room lol

What’s the point in having a better performing PC (at a fixed budget) if it’s too ugly or boring for social media? /s

    $300 CPU, $1200 GPU, $300 RAM, $250 PSU, $100 Mobo, $200 worth of storage.

$125 case, used. New is $310 in my area. $80 tower cooler, $550 worth of LianLi fans + $80 in EKWB RGB fans.

In total, $2350 in performance, $835 in case&cooling. Considering that I’m able to buy a $50 case with 3 fans preinstalled that will be ok for my components, it’s $785 invested in aesthetics.

I’m good with quarter of money spent being spent on aesthetics.

  21. I spent most of my money on GPU, a OLED and a mini led mon..

Then there’s this one guy with a whole white build + stock rtx

  24. cactusbong

Modern keyboards are hella nice but I just can’t justify it when some of them cost as much as a high end processor, motherboard, NVME ssds etc

  25. TarnishedGalahad

Built pc a month ago. I spent 30 more for the chromax black Noctua NH-D15. The only rgb was on the mobo (turned off in bios) and my ram. Everything else is black af 🖤

Meanwhile I build Frankensteins with multiple HDDs in a RAID, several drives all over the system, optical drives and color mis-matched parts…. oh, but at least I have RGB now in this 15 year old case I shoved modern parts into… and dremeled modern ports like USB-C in the front to replace the obsolete front connectors like Firewire.
