I stopped logging in mine, it’s still pestering me though but I’m kinda happy that it’s not messing with my files anymore

I use one drive to sync stuff between my PC and my MacBook and back up my photos from the phone. It’s good stuff.

A lot of companies these days seem to believe that, while you might pay for something, you don’t really “own” it.

I don’t understand why the dislike for OneDrive, sometimes when I want to move files between my phone and PC, and I’m too lazy to find a cable or I’m not in the same room, I just put it in OneDrive and it’ll show up on my PC/Phone 10 seconds later
ZhangtheGreat
Heh, I let it run, but I disabled all automatic processes, so it’s just there for Windows to never bug me about it not being there.
hoohnk
i actually just started using it for my cloud save games between my desktop and Legion Go .

I uninstalled it and yet it STILL manages to fuck every pc I make 🙁

Uninstalled it immediately.

OneDrive is such a fucking cancer.. why in the fuck would they even consider coding it so that if you delete it in one place, it deletes everywhere else automatically?
Why the shit, does it also not allow you to STOP syncing a folder, just because it hasn’t finished doing so?
It’s so stilted and rigid, it’s simply impossible to work with unless you have high bandwidth and buy 1TB of it.. but everyone has 5GB with Windows and it’s turned on by default, forcing you to manage it and jump hoops.
It’s so predatory..

Onedrive is on God amazing though. I got all my papers and files on every computer and my phone whenever I want. Not taking up any actual storage space until I need it.

Onedrive is very good once you setup and use it properly.
Everything is cloud saved so i don’t need to worry about important files getting lost.
Its ability to restore older versions of files came in handy a lot of time for me.

Oh no a simple way to sync work files between my home PC and work laptop… the horror.

OneDrive is all I use. Works great especially for OneNote which I use for school. I can access my notes on any device seamlessly, and even on the web on a random devices. It doesn’t require me to do anything special either which is what has made it the most useful. It just works in the background, but that is probably why you hate it.
ChintzyPC
It’s bloatware. Sure it has a bit of use for some people but the vast majority of users don’t know or care to know how to use it.
If you use it to transfer between your phone and PC just use Nearby Share. Then run windows debloater on a custom setting to get rid of it for good.

I use onedrive constantly for my college work to sync between all my devices. It’s great for what it does, I get if you’re not into it its forced down your throat constantly but its nice to have a standardised cloud for windows devices that also works well as an ios app
LightRyzen
I used Revo uninstaller to remove that malware. Problem solved.
sacredknight327
I don’t need it completely removed I just wish it didn’t default to backing up a particular set of folders on clean install. It should be the other way around, the user should have to turn it on of their own motivation if they want it. Granted that’s not as much a big deal to people who rarely clean install, but I do a lot.

I used onedrive once. It then proceeded to delete everything on my computer, I managed to stop it before it caused any damage.

iCloud does the same thing and I damn near just want to uninstall it completely. Don’t know why these cloud programs are so persistent.
DeliciousWhales
You can uninstall it in the add/remove programs thing and then it’s completely gone
Illustrious_Good277
Yea… I only create a local account on my fresh installs and uninstall all the bw. I run a proxmox server (my old am4 build) on my network with a TrueNAS vm as a fileserver with plenty of storage and backups. Microsoft, in general, shoves everything down your throat like the initial setup “must login” bs.

You know what’s annoying. It auto backups some files like documents and overrides the original file. I uninstalled it and now I have no documents folder in quick access. So annoying.

I used it for a week and i HATE IT!
I used my pc for gaming and my laptop for school.
But instead of just providing a cloud folder, it changed my desktop and my documents folder around.
