This ending let’s V still live with the option to either go work for the FIA (I’m thinking either in logistics or as an instructor), leave altogether and see the wider world first-hand, or return to NC and set up as a fixer. At least no one gets zeroed raiding Arasak Tower, and Arasaka loses its stranglehold on the city.
There are no good endings, only less shit ones.
Personally, I felt this was one of the better outcomes, although it is depressing. You’re alive, you have a standing offer to go work with Reed, a chance to move on and do something new yourself.
We got what we asked for: the Monkey Paw provided, and all we can do is sit and stare at our screens not realizing what we actually did.
Depending on your v, this could be a good ending.

My V just wanted to make money, leave night city and live.
My V started with no implants, ending with no implants is no biggy. a medal and a cushy job at the fia (as the hero that saved the president no less)? sign me right the fuck up.

I loved this ending, I think sometimes people need to see past the ‘but my vidya character was so kewl!’ And actually look at what the endings trying to say
At the final scene, when V gets bumped, its so important, how many NPC’s did you bump, smash past as V while you were speeding through NC, V slips back into the crowd, but his life isnt over, its just changing, he can become a fixer, a gunstore owner, a ripper he can do whatever he wants, this is the only ending where he gets his life back
Quiet life, or blaze of glory? Well we’ve seen how the blaze of glory ends, jackie dead in the back of a taxi and dex with his head full of lead in the landfill
People need to up their media literacy hating on this ending
I dissgree for me This one is one of the better outcomes for V in my opinion, yep he lose a lot but also we tend to forget that he is alive and its a new beggining for him, he can be whatever he want now…
And Panam wants nothing to do with you.

I think this is honestly the best ending, with don’t fear the reaper being runner up.
This ending feels definitely artificially bad, to me.
V gone for 2 month, but last 2 years? Meh. Reed could pay a call to Vik or anyone…
Implant incapacity is ok, but all friends gone sounds non natural.
I felt this ending was kinda dumb after maxing out the game because I had like 3 million Eddies on hand. Time to retire anyway.
In general, I felt like too many endings glorified leaving Night City. Weird reactionary antiurban vibe. Life is not better in the desert, especially if Panam is still constantly blowing a gasket.
I really wish there was an option to accept Reeds offer to stay at Langley instead of going back.

I wondered why the marketed Solomon reed so hard, and now I understand. They didn’t want you picking songbirds side. Ever.
I refuse to accept that V can’t become a merc again. You can literally remove the OS and only run kiroshi optics and beat Smasher. Hell you could probably do it with no perks even. I hate how it just implies V’s life is over. All it takes is some connections and V can have the tech to be able to do *most* gigs.
