To me it felt like quality/str builds were worse in ER than other souls games. Mostly due to how fast most bosses were along with having a bunch of chain attacks. A bleed katana build seemed much more efficient for melee unfortunately.
Pfft who uses weapons? Just let the summons solo the boss for you!
Still the most fun style. Always come back to it for every souls game.
I’m such a fucking unga bunga big sword guy I beat Rykard without using the spear.
I just threw on my best fire resist stuff and slammed him with a giant fuck-off sword which had Wild Swings on it.
All I see is
Big Weapon = Big
Thats all I need.
Always strength build for first play. The maybe dex. Then usually one of the magical builds.
Are there any swifter weapons? For someone like me who likes to play games as assassins or rogues. All I’ve seen are either big swords, axes or staffs.
The great sword is truly great
Been playing the souls games co-op with a buddy for years and invasions have always been a bittersweet element of the games.
Unashamedly abused the crap out of the frenzy fountain spell in elden ring on being invaded though. Screw your invading pokey stick ass.
Elden ring litteraly have infinite build possibility and viability, but a good bonk is good enough too

I do not understand why a soulslike has armor beyond cosmetic use only.
If you’re good enough, you can dodge or block everything, so why the armor? I’m not gonna be hit.
Every time I see someone in game wielding a 9ft great sword, I just know they’re overcompensating and projecting so hard.
Like relax, baby carrot, use a normal size sword.
