If I could choose any game, it would be this game. So much fun, so many memories. GameSpy, clan matches, the modes like freeze tag – I’d do anything to play this again in its prime
I just remember the opening of that game being basically a first-person carbon copy of the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan, which is exactly what I wanted from a WW2 FPS at the time.
(And as I think about it, people who played MOHAA are probably the last generation of gamers who have handled an actual carbon copy and know what it means, lol)
GilliamtheButcher
One of the best FPS games I ever played. I don’t often cry out for remakes, but this is one I’d make an exception for.
Riovas
That Omaha Beach opening was unbelievable at the time. This was the first game I got to play online back when DSL was taking off.great tines.
metalmayne
One of the most iconic games of its time. Nothing was as good as jumping around the buildings of Stalingrad peeking windows. It also is the predecessor of the best call of duty of all time, COD 2. I remember this game during my 56kb powered multiplayer sessions
Selfmade-Darks0lsv3t
I wish i could play it generally again. There is like no digital copy available and my dad’s physical copy became one with the past.

Was this the one where you had to suppress the enemy?

I liked Frontline better. I think it got the better soundtrack as well.

I wish I could play M.A.G. in it’s prime again.
aloz16
I remember it being SO good, but I got stuck in that mission where you get into a meeting room from the ceiling glass, breaking it with a new machine gun.
Killed everything and walked everywhere for hours a bunch of times and thought it was bugged and left it there lol rip

I specifically remember one time my uncle had a LAN party at his work and I went with him. He took a break and I took over for him. Next thing I see is his buddies poking their heads around the corner wondering how he got so good.
Being a ten year old owning a bunch of 30-40 years old never got me more excited lol

If I could go back to those days, gaming wouldn’t be on my list.

Freeze tag! Hell yes! Hosted several all-nighter LANs when I was a kid and this game along with LotR: BfME was always amazingly fun

If you had a beastly computer in multiplayer you had a huge advantage for both draw distance and frames.
In 2002 in college after being on dialup for years and moving to high speed it was the last time I was ever a good sniper. I can’t remember the map name but basically pick a generic village where two teams faced off looking down a single long main street, it wasn’t fair for the other team.

I used to be in a clan and play this competitively! I could snipe a pixel of helmet from the hip in that stalingrad level 😂 nowadays, online shooters just make me nervous.
RealDMC
I want Chromehounds and BF2142 also
RobRows101
It’s amazing that somehow after 18 years of not thinking about this game I still remember the exact layout of the mutliplayer street levels. Great game through and through. Much preferred to COD
BFFBomb
There was a secret mocumentary included that you can unlock. I can not find the full video anywhere
EDIT: It was MOH Frontline, my mistake. But still want to watch it in its entirety

Finished MOH Airborne today for the first time, was immediately in love again.
For some reason the Medal of Honor games have just a great feeling to them, you really feel the WW2 vibe compared to other World War games.
Like all of the games have amazing music, combat, scenery, I really wish this franchise would continue.

My buddy and I would explore the multiplayer maps on LAN and then after we would understand the best places for ambushes we’d connect to the servers and play.
But then one day I was exploring and on the small villa map I told my buddy to jump on a railing and crouch. I jumped on top of him and jumped after telling him to stand up when I jumped. (Old counterstrike tactic to getting places you weren’t dosed to go.)
I was then able to get on the roof. I explored the roofline and scaled to the outer edge of the map and jumped behind the gate that was at the very northern part of the map.
From behind the gate I was able to hit my buddy but he was not able to hit me.
We then took that into multiplayer. After about 4 or 5 sessions, a few people started to catch on to what we were doing. A few weeks later, EA modified the map officially with a plane that crashed into the tower next to the gate, preventing any access to the area behind it.
There were other places to access from rooftops but they didn’t bother changing anything else. I’m proud to say that I started an affect that forced a multi million dollar company to change their maps to prevent what would be a cascade of exploits not only in that map but other maps too.

Peak gaming at this moment, never had more fun in my life playing games

Ah, the good old days of LAN parties and late-night gaming. I’d trade anything for a go at this beaut again!
mastiction
One of my favorite childhood games. Spent many hours bonding with my dad while trying to beat the later levels. I still have my physical copy with the box and everything.

I went to E3 in 2001 the display for this was epic!
It was a sandbag fox hole that had an awesome small cinema built into it that sat maybe 40 people. They played the beach landing and it was fucking epic!

My first ever PC game, first ever FPS. What a kick in the nostalgia nuts.
V2 Rocket rifle only. Everybody lean spamming. God damn

Such an amazing game with so many memories. We’re getting old.

Medal of Honor was a great series. Frontline and European Assault were my favorites

Freeze Tag Objective was so much fun

Never played this one. Rising Sun to this day is my favorite in the series. Throwing you at the attack of Pearl Harbor right in the beginning was intense!

I loved freeze tag! And the way you could customize your server so it said things like “soandso shot soandso in the balls.”
My first online FPS and I tell you what, they don’t make ’em like that anymore!

worst part was missions got pretty long and when you died you had to start the whole mission over. I guess that was standard but I never finished the game

Played it in its prime: it was awesome.

I remember loving the shit out of this game. I played a lot of doom and quake. Suddenly I played this game where there’s all this cinematic shit happening around you. The enemies take cover. It was an insane experience to go from 90s shooters and skipping all the way to this game.
Later on I played all the other games in between like half-life and rtcw.
I also learned to recognize the quake 3 engine used in so many games at the time. RTCW, MOHAA, COD
I have it sitting in my book shelf and mean to fire it up again some day.
