The art style still holds up better than most PS2/PS3 games, so wouldn’t even need to make them full remakes, just preserve them.

Insomniac recently went back for Rachet and Clank and after playing it….I really was pretty bored by how old it all felt. Looked great, felt ancient.

I loved these games, specifically the 1st and 2nd. 3rd was okay, but the 2nd was really special imo. That said, unless they feel they have something new to offer the franchise, I don’t particularly need another. The 4th game was pretty fun, but it was again, another step down for me. So with that in mind, I see both of the last 2 games as worse than the first 2 so I don’t think they should continue with that trend.

I would love to see another sly cooper game, I’ve played sly 2 more times than I can count. At the same time I feel like ghost of Tsushima is the spiritual successor. The movement and combat are how a modern sly would play. I mean the crouching under tables animation is straight from sly.

One of the reasons I hated that I switched to xbox is because I couldn’t play these anymore.

AAA games are no longer interested in risky passion driven projects. They are only interested projects that sound like slam dunks in terms of sales. Then they homogenise the experience to the point of being completely free of any risky or experimental mechanics in order attract the widest possible marketbase. This is why the big name companies like Ubisoft havn’t put out anything above a 7 out of 10 in a decade. Releasing nothing truly terrible but nothing truly good either.
