Souls games are not really my cup of tea, I’ve tried multiple times, but none of them have a coherent story (don’t @ me with Lore = story), which is what I usually look for in a non multiplayer game.
Is Elden Ring the same, or does it have an actual story to it?

I’ve had it on my Steam Deck since day one. Only played like 5-6h. I wish I could get into it. It feels like I’m missing something to understand all this hype and enjoyment all these people are getting from the game that’s just not manifesting for me.

I never made it past that first big boss in the castle and just gave up trying to level up higher in the other areas as I wasn’t that interested. Is it worth retrying?

I’m not really into the Souls genre but I got swept up in the Elden Ring hype and got it when it came out. I only got maybe 25-30% through it and surrendered. It was tough but very rewarding. I can definitely see why fans of the genre love it so much and I respect the hell out of the game and FromSoft for the job they did crafting it.
Happy to see a studio doing all the right things and being rewarded for it with strong sales. Hopefully other publishers learn something from it.

Elden Ring is the best game I’ve ever played in my life. I’m in my mid 30s and a game hasn’t captured my imagination like that since I was a child. So excited for the DLC later this year.
