
As we know, Blizzard among other companies have layed off hundreds of customer support staff. The thing is, Blizzard customer support was already a dumpster fire even before the layoffs – practically nonexistent.
It has become so bad recently that disrupting gold farming bots, disrupting the economy, competing for resources, or even something as simple as undercutting another players prices, or doing literally anything to inconvenience the wrong person that has a certain amount of resources, can and will result in being mass reported and permanently banned.
Blizzard has resorted to a 100% automated system to apply bans, and anyone that has access to something as simple as *a guild* has the capacity to permanently ban another player for any reason; it will not be appealed and not a single human eyeball will ever see your case.

So, not only was my appeal denied, it was denied for a reason of breaking Terms of Use and Blizzard’s In-game Policies. The fact that I wasn’t banned didn’t help me.
So, if you’ve ever been banned because you got mass-reported by bots, don’t get your hopes up.

People doing shit like wasting time and resources on BS like this is probably part of the reason it is automated.
Yeah, sounds about right for… Well, literally every single customer support appeal I’ve filed with any company.
It took me 3 consecutive messages to Steam just to get an actual non-copy/paste response from their FAQ over a compromised account.
Customer Support isn’t about customer retention anymore. Hasn’t been for decades, as companies realised that you make more money attracting new customers than you do keeping current ones, and word of mouth doesn’t actually have a negative impact on large businesses (usually. That trend MAY be changing). It’s little more than public management now, placating consumers in the hopes they get distracted and stop asking.
Fight fire with fire.
Time to form guilds around mass reporting and banning other players that abuse the practice, and do it until something changes.
Blizzard has been terrible for well over a decade. Just stop supporting them.

like i’m done with blizzard games forever for other reasons, but this is just ridiculous. dude clearly proved that there is 0 human interaction on these tickets even when trying to respond back to the ticket. absolutely not ok. this needs way more attention and some news articles. and it needs people abusing mass bans IMMEDIATELY to make this a bigger issue for blizzard and get their attention that way.

Yeah last time I played I was silenced 1 week because I called out a Gold Seller in a Heroic Grp and they mass reported me.
And same thing. No human ever looked at this shit. Just got told basically “fuck off, I’m a bot”

Anyone remember the early 00’s where you get a bug/glitch/hang in an instance and you could raise a ticket in game, and they’d come and sort it, in game, within minutes.
This is unacceptable by blizzard and honestly this should be illegal.
I stopped playing Overwatch over this. Bought the battlepass and wasn’t able to complete it because of the overly aggressive automatic system. Customer Service wasn’t helpful at all.

this is literally the form I got when I got banned in overwatch and when i asked what for they refused to tell me just repeatedly sent me the link to the TOS page so apparently naughty words are the same as racial slurs and death threats.
