So much fun. Incredible memories of screaming while getting chased by my buddies doing the Witch King sprint. I do remember one of the classes (archer?) being pretty broken though.
Ahhhhh, I remember renting that game from blockbuster on the 360, duuude, that game was awesome! I remember jumping down into a huge fight and just going wild on the enemies below.
I feel like I bought a PS5 for remakes, remasters, and cross gen titles.
That game was a shitty, buggy, incoherent mess and I loved every moment of it.
I’m surprised that more games haven’t tried to steal the Battlefront formula, Conquest basically proves how remarkably robust it is.
I had so much fun on this game! played it for hours after school and put in marathon sessions on weekends. A remake would be cool but I would really enjoy a whole new game in the same taste.
Is there still much hype for the LOTR universe though outside of the hardcore fan base.
I loved the Weathertop map, fighting over the winding pathways and stairs up to the summit was awesome.
I think EA lost some rights, which is also a reason one can’t just buy the Bfme series easily.
Does anybody know who ownes the rights to possibly make such a Lotr video game currently, so using movie designs and stuff (not crappy sleective rights to make some random game about gollum or smth)?

I remember being so excited for a Battlefield style Lord of the Rings game but it’s got just garbage combat.
Ranged characters completely destroy melee.

Thanks for the info. I hadn’t heard about this. When they say remaster though, are they redoing the graphics and stuff? These games are already playable on Xbox. I don’t see anything different here, other than this will be the first release for Switch.

Battle for Middle Earth 1&2 please
I played the hell out of this, but it was a terrible game. The idea was fun (I love the battlefront formula), but the balance was all over the place, with archers absolutely destroying anything else (a single archer could kite and kill a Balrog easily for example).
Also it was way too high fantasy for my tastes, diverging too much from the source material. All archers had special arrows, all melee characters had flaming sword attacks, and all mages had fireballs and shockwaves. The base units should’ve stayed grounded, and the special abilities should’ve been reserved for the heroes.
I too hope they remaster bad games. Bad games need love too.

I wouldn’t hold my breath. Shit, I’d kill to see Battlefield 1942 remastered (and don’t say Battlefield 1943. That wasn’t a remaster. That was just a tease. Only a handful of maps and no bot support).

Just got it on 360 a few weeks ago. I had always wanted to play it for all these years. Enjoying the game a ton!
Sucks the dlc has been removed.
