Yeah, unfortunately it looks like you did. The board color is wrong, it looks like someone tried to erase the chip markings and the SSD is also missing a Samsung chip with a metal cover.
Oh and it is also the wrong M.2. keying. The drive you’ve got is a SATA drive, not NVME.
Another option is someone bought a 990, then “returned it” but replace the 990 Pro with an old SATA SSD.

It’s also the wrong key. I believe that you got a B+M key, and I also think that it’s an M.2 Sata SSD and not an NVME. Just fire that e-waste in the return pile.

Never buy PC bits from Amazon Warehouse!
Jealous-Soft-3171
Check the seller first always always always. If it’s not a legit seller or the corporation selling it there is a likely hood that it’s a scam. They will undercut the market price by a bit to lure you in and do this to you. You saved 20-30 bucks but you get ripped off for n the end. Verify the seller is legit first and this will not be a problem.

Hahaha Any product that says “endless victory” is fake.
Due-Bus-8915
Yeah that look very off based on the colour of the packaging and did it come without the sticker on the ssd?

Contact Amazon support and let them know you did not receive what you paid for, that’s what I did. Somebody decided to throw a 2TB 990 pro sticker on a 870 ssd and sent it to me. I got to keep the wrong one and they sent me the right one free of charge.
Never buy PC parts from Amazon half of them are a scam. Just buy local if you can or use Newegg

I wanted to save a few bucks and bought a previously returned 4tb 990pro from Amazon warehouse and it turned out to be a 2tb 980Pro with a 990pro 4tb label. Returned it back and bought new. Someone got a free 990pro upgrade it seems.
LivingHormone2
Yes you did.

100% not a 990, not even Samsung…and probably not even NVME. I’ve personally only seen that keyway on SATA drives. Sorry, OP

Well Well Well

OP probably didn’t buy FROM Amazon. They bought it ON Amazon from some sketchy 3rd party seller. Amazon doesn’t sell fake nvme drives. Why don’t people know this yet?

It should look like this:

Sorry
Never buy hard drives or video cards on amazon has been my experience watching this sub. 100% fake.
Was it shipped from and sold by Amazon?
Sansmug quality SSD – Blazing fast
It looks like someone bought the legit ssd and somehow made it look unopened after swapping it out for another. Then returned it for a refund.
Definitely.
Samsung, funnily enough, don’t use SK Hynix parts on their own SSDs. *They use Samsung parts*.
Yes it’s fake. The original Samsung 990 pro has a black pcb and the one you have is green.
What do you think?
Yep. Should be a big honking heatsink on it
Never ever buy NVME from Amazon. This always happens.
This is 1000% not a 990 Pro, fortunately you bought it from Amazon, someone likely swapped in an older drive.
I’d personally wonder if they left all their personal stuff on it, but either way you should be able to get a replacement.
Yup.
You got someone’s effed up return.
Sata drive not Nvme :s
Sadly
