why BLACKwall is red

Because the red bit is not the wall.

  2. The black part is the wall. The red is the rampant Ai’s on the other side or loose data or smth like that

To add I also always thought it’s sort of of to the person as for what they see or how it forms in their mind.

Red robot stuff means bad. It’s rule no. 3 in the law of robotics

Netdiving lets you interpret data as images and constructs. The red is your primitive ape brain’s way of trying to interpret an almost incomprehensible dangerous, terrifying, and likely hostile mass of data. Like an Eldritch being made out of code – you can’t really understand what it is, but you know it can’t be good to interact with it.

oh shit youre right. are netwatch stupid?

  7. Top-Tradition-3777

Cuz it looks sick af, imagine it being black

  8. Azduffer

I think the red is just the rogue AIs on the other side of the wall. That’s just my head canon

It isn’t. It’s the tech-neural interface that translate the data into forms and symbols the human brain can process and comprehend that gives color to it. And the red probably is meant to fire that reaction in our brains that happens when we see red: a sense of danger that warns us we may need to take extra care.

Breaking the 4th wall, I think it looks real good and adds to the psychological weight of it. Also, if it was green, it would be “too much Matrix”, right? 😉

Just wait until he finds out it’s not even a wall.

  11. Wait until you realize black light is violet

Why is redwall black? (In a post from an alternate dimension)

  13. chill_winston_

Because Redwall is already a series of books.

Real answer? This is a visual representation of the Blackwall that your interface software is using to help you process data. It doesn’t LOOK like anything, because all of net space is just digital information. It’s the netrunner’s rig that converts that information into something the user can interface with.

Better answer? It IS black, the red you see is the blood of slaughtered enemy AIs that has forever stained it.

  15. bearsheperd

Nah, the wall is black. The environment behind the wall is red. What you are seeing is red light peaking through the wall.

  16. NokstellianDemon

I keep thinking this is the intro to the new Modern Warfare III. Say what you will about the game itself but this form of red goes hard for that game. Much better than the green they always used.

  17. MightyBone

to make sense of it I just think of it as it’s black in terms of activity. black as empty, as in no data is crossing it and it’s blackout information from the opposite side.

Or maybe CDPR are just dummies.

  18. ProtoReaper23113

Probably explainf in the cyberpunk red book

  19. Stylistic choice as you wouldn’t be able to see the wall in a black space obviously plus the red isn’t the wall: it’s stuff on the other side of the wall

  20. EwanMcg1997

Ayo they have a point! I’m storming CDPR right now who’s with me?
