Got myself this launch button via Newegg for $16. It took over two months to get here (forgot I even ordered it). Random non-descript package shows up and then I was reminded. All instructions and even video they have you scan with your phone to open is all in another language (of Asian origin, not sure which country).

Simple set up, tiny PCIE card you plug into one of your bottom slots, then cable connects to that card and splits into two, one connector goes where your case power supply goes, other connector plugs into your case power connector. That’s it. Button works wirelessly. I imagine I need to charge it. It has a female usb C in the back of the button but no charge indicators or anything like that.

Nice. You can never go wrong with a big red button.

  2. Console players can already wirelessly turn on their consoles via their controllers.
A little slow on the uptake PC”masterrace”.

My launch button switches on my lights, PC and kettle. It turns on temp control for the room and puts my phones on silent. Everyone asks me why the hell would you need something like that. I can tell you right now, being forty, you never grow out of silly childish things. A launch button is highly recommended. Join the club. It’s fun. I also have one for my workshop.

I had a big red button once. It launched a nuke instead and i got arrested for mass terroism.

I gotta ask about the hanging mount….how safe?
    Also, beautiful dog

  6. Phatnoir

Does that mount come with the desk or is it an attachment?

  7. That’s awesome! I had my console to turn on via my phone XD

I just use a smart plug for this. Set ‘power state when AC power restored’ in BIOS from ‘last state’ to ‘power on’, then the PC will turn on when the smart plug is activated. Only downside is you need to manually power the PC off then turn the smart plug off.

Pair with other plugs (desk/monitor/light power) in a routine and I can turn all my stuff on with a single button press on my phone before I even get out of bed.

Can someone find a link for this I need one!!!

Yeah, but that case dangling gives me anxiety. Is that a special case made for it that has reinforcement in the top or is that just a clamp on a regular case?

I’m pretty sure that is an option on console joystick since 2014

I like this. My pc is mostly flight sim rig. I’d love something like this, but a metal toggle switch with a yellow and black flip up safety cover. I’d want it to power up my pc when flipped up, and power down when flipped down.

Me: ok now I need 3000$ in of parts that look like a rocket, bomb bunker or cyberpunk ripper doc room

In all fairness, I turn my PS5 on wirelessly as well via the PS button on the controller. 🤷‍♂️

Haha I do the same thing. Except mines just a little keyfob. Looks like it would be for a car

…every console since Xbox 360/ps3/wii has started with a remote button press…

  18. No_River_8451

I press a button the controller and the console comes on. How is that different?

I was half expecting the dog to explode.

  20. Material-Junket214

That’s actually fire. I got this little mechanical switch as my power button might have to pick this thing up though

  21. celine_freon

Yes, what happens to the cat and dog when the button is pressed?

Now that you said it, imma have to do it to my Series X, I have a damn good PC, but you just challenged me lol

Rumor has it that you are still 13, and I mean that positively. The notion that adulthood should strip away the joy and impose seriousness, making life less enjoyable, is widely accepted yet flawed.

The essence of who we were in our younger years remains within us. Embrace life with the enthusiasm and light-heartedness you had before responsibilities made it seem burdensome

  24. Cool, but why does it need a PCIE? Couldn’t it just use Wake on LAN?

Hear me out. Remote start from smart phonw
