Anyone want to explain how a client did this?

They pulled on it because that’s how they treat the plugs on all their electronics. When this one didn’t give way the pulled harder.

    1. When did they start selling these wireless display adapters?
    2. Where can I buy that?

This might be one of the rare tech support instances where I know EXACTLY how a client did this.

With the strength of Hercules and the brains of Atlas.

This belongs in the iiiiiitt subreddit lol, they would get a kick out of this.

They saw the meme of hanging computers from their VGA connectors and thought they’d test it out.

Monitor kept on high shelf that has a small gap between the shelf and the wall, and the PC hanging by the cable. Former manager at a retail store did that because the company refused to pay for a table for the back of house as a business expense

  8. Dropped monitor or case, wire snapped after the cord ran out of length, if I had to guess.

“with enough force it WILL come out”

he was very determined and narrow minded

  10. Pull hard enough and a cheaply made VGA connector will be held only by the solder joining its wires to its pins. Most connectors are encapsulated to add structural strength there, this one clearly wasn’t.

In the 90’s I did this. Tripped over a loose hanging VGA cable walking away from the desk. The heavy ass tank of a CRT didn’t budge, but that cable popped right out of the connector.

My parents had just paid property taxes and were pissed about the extremely expensive school tax included, and told me to take one from school the next day.

Almost nothing in the history of mankind bears as much weight, holds with as much power, as a 15 PIN VGA plug. One screw alone could hold mountains together – both? Don’t make me laugh.

I’m guessing they didn’t do anything and it was given to them like that. At least that’s what they always tell us 😂

Reminds me of the computer hanging by a VGA from a projector

“I thought that it was part of the PC because it was screwed on”

  16. squarzed

What’s the problem? He only wants to disconnect it (permanently) lol

    Part I:
    – Make sure you fasten the screws. They are super important!

Half an hour later, part II:
    – oh! It’s stuck! Pull a bit harder. These old computers get rusty.

I’m not sure how, but I know WHY; it’s to keep ants out of the port.

How they didn’t rip the motherboard out the back of the case is a bigger question…lol…clearly the person who did this is in charge of giving hand jobs to elephants in the local zoo

The strain relief failed and the connection between the wires and the pins wasn’t as strong as the connection between the screw and the standoff.

No clue. Have had monitors hanging feet in the air with just the VGA cable supporting them. I thought they were indestructible.

  22. Throwaway2600k

It’s apples new vga wireless adapter

  23. WhatsASleepCycle

    “Just unplug the cable”

    “Ok no more plug now”
