Pros: you have a wide array of cons to choose from.

Cons: you have to choose all the cons.

  2. Lialda_dayfire

Cons: The overprocessed food, the pollution, the constant risk of violence, probably really steep rent/income ratio, terrible work/life balance. Utter lack of nature too, not even birds outside your window.

Pros: Cool funky fashion, probably all sorts of cultural events, great music. If you have enough money, you could get awesome kiroshi optics and other implants.

  3. moogoothegreat

Pros: you have a burrito vending machine in your apartment.

Cons: it’s always full and you’ve NEVER seen anyone refill the thing.

  4. owldonkey

    Pros: It’s Nightcity.
    Cons: It’s Nightcity.

Nightcity is like a wedding cake from the dumpster – you will get almonds and cockroaches with the whipped cream.

  5. Forsaken-Slide2

pros: cool pretty lights go blinky blinky

Cons: Rampant gang violence, police corruption, cost of living, corporations, corporate-gang corruption, synth food, corporate experimentation on the population, corporations in general, no free healthcare, gun violence, melee weapon violence, cyber psychosis, military grade cybernetics being given out like candy, dust storms, acid rain, pollution, I can’t think of any more.

Just gonna put it out there: Night City must smell like absolute shit with how much garbage is everywhere.

Your olfactory senses will be assaulted constantly.

  10. Pros: It’s Night City!

    Cons: It’s Night City, tho.

The only pro to living in Night City is everything happens there. If you need something or someone no matter how rare the item or the skill you can find it in Night City for a price.

Cons are you live in Night City.

Pros: You a corpo with some cool chrome

Cons: Scavs on your ass for that same chrome and will rip it outta you and leave you in a corner in a filthy ass bathroom.

  13. Lieutenant_Prawn

There’s no cons if you’re a CEO or something corporate like that.

  14. It seems like cost of living is super cheap in night city. Tons of freedom to do what you abt as long as you don’t piss of your neighborhood gang. If you keep your head down you can.probably live a decent life until you die from a drug OD or a stray bullet.

I think the obvious have been said already. I’ll try to had my own pros.

For someone like me that always mamage to find commom ground, to understand the adverse party and is generally really underatanding of other points of view (i try, not that it always work) i like the prospect of living in a world where shouting against corruption and fighting for a cause is 99% justifiable and the other psrty does not have good arguments, but rather just fight back.

Having a common ennemy, something to fight for, a wide range of groups who all try to fuck with the corps to choose from. Being rebellious and being justified in doing so.

So, pros : Having a cause to fight for. Nice tech.

    Cons : the rest.

  20. ContinuumKing

Cons: Every moment of your existence until you either leave the city or die.

Pros: If you are a chromed up super mercenary who can kill buildings full of elite warriors without breaking a sweat you might be able to get laid before you leave the city or die.

  21. eggplant_avenger

pros: short life expectancy, pretty, crime is a legitimate career path

cons: life sucks a little, food doesn’t look that good, work life balance (but you have to choose that life)

The low level gigs in Cyberpunk pay between a few hundred to a few thousand eddies. Let’s assume one low-level gig is 750 eddies (lowball estimate) and that one enny = $1 USD.

First, let’s calculate how many days you would work in a year: There are typically 52 weeks in a year. Taking off 2 days per week (Saturday and Sunday), you would work 5 days per week. So, you would work 5 days * 52 weeks = 250 days (approximately) per year (again, lowball estimate).

Now, let’s calculate your yearly earnings: $750 per day * 250 days = $187,500 per year.

Therefore, your yearly earnings would be $187,500 if you make $750 per day doing simple smash-and-grab missions.

KEEP IN MIND – This is an **extremely low estimate**, assuming that your jobs pay poorly (2000 eddies is normal for a mid-level job in Night City), you’re not selling the weapons, you’re not taking on ANY higher-paying jobs, and you’re only doing one gig per day (which probably takes less than two hours).

You could definitely make upwards of $500,000 if you started taking on one mid-level job every day, using cyberware to protect yourself (taking vacations and regular therapy to keep the humanity stat stable).

Night City is better to live in than NYC, because at least I wouldn’t have to smell weed and drugs everywhere, all the time. Plus, if someone’s annoying you, you can cripple them permanently and evade the police by hiding in an alley for a few minutes.

The Pros are that you are actually free. That if you are willing to put the work in and have a little bit of luck, your upward mobility is literally out of this world.

If you want to go a safe route and be a cog you can work for a corp and (depending on whether you read the fine print) have a good retirement and a nice apartment.

If you just want to provide for your family you can start a business and it will probably be successful because night city is all about giving people what they want.

If you want to be the baddest merc the worlds ever seen, all you need is a unity and some street smarts.

There’s nothing stopping you, no law, no regulations, no degree requirements, no HR bullshit. All you need is the eddies and a dream. and the eddies come easy if you aint a coward.

The cons is that you are going to have to provide your own security, both physical, cyber and lawfare.

  24. trickynik4099

    Cons: never got enough eddies
    Pro: lives are cheap

In 2077 they voted my city the worst place to live in America. Main issues? Sky high rate of violence, and more people living below the poverty line than anywhere else. Can’t deny it, it’s all true – but everybody still wants to live here. This city’s always got a promise for you. Might be a lie, an illusion… But it’s there, just around the corner… And it keeps you going. It’s a city of dreams… And I’m a big dreamer.

  26. Mean-Instruction-122

A genuine pro that V mentions is that nobody goes hungry. Yeah it’s not natural at all and you may not meet certain vitamin goals but you will never die from a massive caloric deficit.

  27. Archmagos_Browning

Pros: you can install cyberware that allows you to have infinite orgasms and bigger sex organs.

    Cons: everything else

  28. TyeDye115

Pros: the city looks really cool at night time

Cons: you probably will be dead before night time

  29. orlyyarlylolwut

Pros: Being rich in Night City/any major city is probably amazing.

Cons: Being poor in Night City/any major city is dangerous, thankless, and incredibly shitty.

  30. Pompoulus
