Not a huge fan of how the headline is written.
It comes across as snarky and sensationalized when I think the dev was just saying that the game isn’t a PVP game but there are other great PVP games if you want to play them.
The game already has PvP. I shot a guy for taking my Recoiless Rifle support weapon call in the other night.
That makes complete sense from several perspectives. Besides the resultant toxicity reduction, you get much less balance issues/complaints. Good example of this is DRG

Throw a 380mm Cannon in the middle of the shit storm and shit mix them while screaming RUNNNNN.
For bonus laughs. Put a mortar away from them, so when they are being chased, they get bombed for extra keks.

Fucking LOVED Helldivers 1. Was close to skipping this generation since my gaming time took a dive thanks to kids, but shit, seeing all the fun everyone seems to be having….

I’ll be real. Tarkov is not and won’t be for everyone.
It’s an extreme based survival shooter and it’s a punishing game to play but addictive.

One of the best things about this game is that it’s PvE. I’m sick of PvP.
I hope they go with this decision. I’m a happy H2 player just because I love being cooperative, and I love that everyone needs the help each other. Please keep your CoD level toxicity out of Helldivers 2.

I highly miss Resistance 2 coop mode. I thought that game mode alone was the best part of the game. I haven’t really played a co-op game like that since.
Could they add servers?
Question: I got a PS5 and PC. What has been the better experience for players? Servers, gameplay, bugs, etc. I know it’s a PlayStation game, so wondering if it plays better on there or not.
Edit: really want to get into the game soonish, but will likely be next month lol. Newborn baby takes game time away.

– Gameplay wouldn’t really translate well to PvP; chasing an invisible enemy team around a giant map just to get taken out by a 500k bomb as soon as you get close would be the opposite of fun. They’d have to significantly change the gameplay to make it work, to the point where it wouldn’t really be the same game anymore.
– The game really is built so much around the community working together to accomplish a goal that would otherwise be impossible. It’s hard to imagine how PvP would contribute to that and not distract from it.
– The elements like friendly fire that make PvE funny would become super toxic in PvP when there’s suddenly a competitive element. I think it would bring out the worst in everybody.
– Thematically it just doesn’t make a lot of sense; why would the Helldivers be fighting against each other when Super Earth’s enemies are out there threatening democracy?
It’s a lot of work to include PvP. It would have to be a paid add on. Bedsides, the whole theme of the game is co-op. Maybe if they did L4D PvP where someone assumes control of the enemies, but that’s probably not what people are asking for.
_DO NOT_ play tarkov unless you like abhorrent memory leaks, _10+ MINUTE LOAD TIMES FOR SINGLE MATCHES_, and the most bullshit you’ve ever dealt with from a game before.
Bots aren’t hard enough the base says, devs answer? _Give them FIVE TIMES your hp and make them aimbots from 200 meters_.
It’s a dumpster fire and unfortunately it’s not getting any better. Good news is there are tons of other extraction shooters where the developers aren’t complete assholes to the player base.
Nikita (creator of tarkov) doesn’t even play his own game and mocks the player base. That’s all you really need to know tbh.
