Personally, I’m a big fan of what iFixit is doing and fully support their right to repair movement. But I also had to watch out for my wallet.

Has anybody else use this kit?

    They are all similar. Ifixit like many brands are just paying for the name. The offbrand will work like the original. I own a similar kit, but not from Harbor Frieght.

    I have a similar kit, it has most things that yours does but it’s missing others.

    Got it off Amazon for around $30

    I like it. I have it, used a couple times. Maybe if I was daily fixer but that’s not the case.

    I am completely okay with spending a bit more money if it means the money goes to running and supporting the work iFixIt does. It’s not just a toolkit.

    Not against purchasing similar took kits in the slightest.

    This looks like a great kit. There’s a HOTO kit I bought on amazon for $17 that has a magnetic lid and bits. Very good.

    I don’t know what kind of quality iFixit drivers and bits are, but as someone who’s worked on electronics for 45 years let me tell you those temu/hf/wish/whatever are usually junk.

    First time you come across a tight screw, those Chinesium drivers and bits will strip the screw and fuck up your day. You’ll wish you spent the extra 50 when you’re trying to cut a slit in a screw the size of a pinhead.

    They might be ok for a job or two, but if you really want some great drivers buy MIPS or another reputable brand.

    I have an iFixit kit. It’s going 2 years strong. I mainly got it to support iFixit. Seeing that my kit has held up made me even happier that I didn’t get ripped off.
