Over a year warranty left on my 3090 white strix that I paid $2250 on microcenter for. Provided receipt to asus, and denied the warranty due to a physical damage(arrow pointing to the physical damage). Quoted me for almost 2 grand on a rtx 3090…. that was artifacting and giving me black screen on games. I’d advise any one, to not purchase an asus product ever.

Which I would argue is manufacturering defect. Alot of gpus have corrosion especially on the heat sink.
This has been known. They have shitty product and want to cover their ass.
ASUS took 6 months to repair (which they did wrong twice) my brand new laptop in my first semester of college and finally offered a lesser laptop. Only after another 3 weeks of waiting for slow responses did they offer an equivalent laptop, though still with missing features that I reluctantly accepted.
I just built a new PC and probably could’ve saved $50 going with some ASUS parts but my experience with their support was so horrible I’ll never purchase from them again.
They are by far the worst support I’ve ever dealt with and will gladly send you in 2 week long email chains where they say they’re elevating your request but never do.
Get another story of Asus stellar warranty.
Got burned once with a 400€ repair for a non existent physical damage for a phone, with the exact sane shitty arrows pointing to ….not a single scratch….
I had to bite the bullet, but never again.

Where or what is the damage?? That area would be subject to ware anyway when plugging in cables that might scratch.
Surely a scratch can’t be considered damage? unless it’s that port that is mangled and hidden under the cover.

No large company does. Most just do a good job of hiding it.
Yeah no shit, it feels like EVGA were the only company that actually cared even a little bit when you had problems with their products. Never buy MSI or ASUS, even their £80 router is useless when their own firmware updates bricks the router and they tell you it’s not covered under warranty.
Looks like salt corrosion and rust. Is it also occurring on the PCB? Could be why your card died in the first place.

Asus is lovingly named Asuck around where I live. Their customer service and warranty process is so bad, people have actually called the cops on the spot. Nowadays, we reach out to the retailers and let them handle the negotiating with Asuck’s warranty department. Imagine my surprise when Asus is the most loved name and most trusted brand around this sub (RIP EVGA we miss you).

Asus were supposed to give me cashback on my 3060ti and weasled out of it when they apparently didn’t get my submission due to their broken as hell website I tried on multiple browsers. I left a whole decent (it was a good gpu) review with pictures and they just left me on read… I knew this bs might happen and I stepped into it. I only got the GPU because after their last PR disaster they dropped prices so much that it was still a good price for the time without cashback and expected this might happen. I felt so icky.
Respectfully, I see a tremendous amount of oxidation on the card and can only wonder in what sort of atmospheric condition it was kept.
Oxidation = Oxygen Migration = Early Circuit Death.

If the mother fucker is rusty, you have a humidity issue or a water spill. You are not supposed to operate these delicate electronic parts in high humidity.
Brother, this card is corroded as fuck. You been operating this thing in 100% humidity? There’s humidity limitations for a reason man, get a dehumidifier for your room before you start crying wolf for damage that was caused by improper conditions.

I have seen that in my own and neighbors pc parts, so I will say most likely you live close to the ocean. Sea salt destroys absolutely everything and is not covered by most manufacturers unless you have something that is specifically designed to endure it since is considered harsh environment or you need an extended warranty for those kind of things. In 5 years living in this apartment I had to replace my car roof twice because it was destroyed by the ocean salt and just kill my third instant water heather for the same reason.

Everyone’s dunking on OP about the rust as if they’re trying to hide something lmao. It took me 3 seconds on Google to find several forum posts regarding rust on a GPU. Humidity exists. This looks like humidity related surface corrosion. Some people live in humid areas, some people don’t have air conditioning. There’s plenty of other explanations other than just “rust = you got your GPU wet”.
