I’m glad I experienced, but yeah, it’s just hit after hit with the emotions and how depressing it is. Seeing my V as basically a nobody in the crowd with no real friends anymore. Man, depressing.
This and the particular Witcher 3 ending are the most emotional endings ever. Thanks CDPR, you did both.

It was clear the game wanted me to feel sad at that ending but I really really wasn’t.
For V, everything was ok. Better than ok, she isn’t dying anymore! That’s fantastic! So her body can’t handle combat anymore, that was inevitable anyway. There’s other jobs than mass murder + the NUSA offered her a comfy desk in Washington that IMHO looked pretty fucking gorgeous compared to the Hellscape right outside of Night City.
As for what happens to everyone else… Like… that’s going to happen anyway won’t it?
Viktor selling out felt like an economic choice untied to anything V does in any of the endings. This ending just happens to show us far enough in the future to see it.
Judy leaving V hurt, but it wasn’t a surprise. I would have been more shocked if she waited out the year without moving on. I’ll admit her being married and shit was fast but kind of textualizes the whole relationship as more of a fling or rebound. Sad, but not unexpected.
Panam ghosting was weird and I don’t really have anything to say on it one way or the other. Felt like somekind of restricted writing, she would have taken the call so I don’t have an opinion on something I refuse to believe would play out that way.
Misty leaving didn’t even feel that sad. Her love was dead and she was going off on an adventure across the world to do something that sounded cool!

– V shreds Johnny
– Arasaka’s “cure” gives V severe brain damage
– V lives through weeks or months of brain breaking monotony and tests
– In the end, V *is still* dying in 6 months
– Papa Arasaka is now an immortal god king. Making the Arasaka Corp even more powerful than before.

I love it. This ending is really interesting because people will hate it or love it, seems like it depends on one’s attitude to life. As a Taoism-zen practitioner with an interest in philosophy, psychology, and neuroscience plus my “Core Values” are “Quest for Knowledge”, “Independence”, and “Personal Growth”, I found Tower Ending is the most interesting one. I could use it to prepare myself for real life.

This ending is beautiful. People really oversold how sad this ending was because, although it did seem really depressing at first, Misty pretty much tells V, and essentially the player, there’s always more to life even after a broken dream. Dreams, friends, and family can come and go in life, but you can always find purpose and meaning to go on as long as you’re alive. That’s the whole point of the ending. V accepts this too. V’s merc life ended, but their life truly begins now.

While it is sad, it’s my personal favorite. Depending on what choices you made when talking to Jhonny about what you are about to do. You get this farewell with him. Where even he says “I’m sorry”. I did it with fem V and the voice actress really sold the scene. The desperation to live, the sorrow of loosing Jhonny, and him, knowing he is doomed but in the end, you gave him up. You are basically killing him to save yourself. Damn that pulled at my heart strings like nothing else in this game did.

After going through all 11 pathetic ass endings, I think I can answer the question the game (Dex) asked us in the begining of the journey. I’d rather go out in a blaze of fucking glory with gun in hand because thats the only time I will feel like I had achieved my purpose. Cuz let’s be real, when V vanished into that crowd after losing his identity, lovers, friends, legacy and the hell he been through just to be forgotten about as if his journey never existed; that shit was just depressing AF and left us all feeling empty.

Everyone always says this, and yes it’s true.
But here’s why :
You realize that even in a made up world like this one, this ending is by far the most grounded one. Because the world keeps going even if you’re not “in it.” It’s sad because all those connections you made, friends, associates, lovers etc. They didn’t wait, they moved on. They even grew to hate you in your absence. And in the end, you’re cured but you’re alone.
Like that scene in Infinity War where Gamora asks *”what did it cost?”*

If you’re playing nomad V then you can seemingly recover since in the beginning sequence it shows that nomad V was still very capable as a nomad. Realistically V could get back to that sorta lifestyle and possibly get back in with the Aldecaldos
