PlayStation bosses say they want to work more ‘proactively’ on PC releases, and it sure sounds like Sony is gearing up for more simultaneous debuts like Helldivers 2

Also to avoid another The Last of Us PC fiasco, I reckon.

Bit of a tangent, but man, if you had told me back in the late 00s, when everyone was shouting off the top of their lungs how PC gaming is dying, that not only would it survive, but it would also receive most of the console exclusives from both Xbox and PS, my noggin wouldn’t have handled it.

Just give me Ghost of Tsushima!

Sony just found out the PC gaming market is quite big (€€€ $$$)…

Ok now please launch simultaneously the Bloodborne PS5 patch and the PC version

And this is why PC is the best platform, I get to play Hell divers 2, returnal, god of war, the last of us while being subscribed to gamepass and logging into classic hardcore world of Warcraft

There was statements from Kojima and co that they managed to turn a profit on Death Stranding only after a PC release put them in the black; maybe Sony saw that PC is a great method of boosting single player releases?
And Steam is a fairly impartial storefront, they’re not liable to suddenly screw Playstation over as a direct competitor any time soon. The Steam Deck is competing in a completely different console market

If Sony releases their PS exclusives to PC sooner than they normally do then my PS5 will be my last console purchase.

It makes sense. Traditional consoles, like the Playstation, aren’t going to last much longer as today’s kids are growing up with mobile devices. So Sony knows that it’s going to have to adapt it’s console designs to probably be more like the Switch. But it also knows that PC gaming isn’t going anywhere so now is a great time to start investing as a hedge if for no other reason. Plus I’m pretty sure the God of War and Horizon PC releases did really well also.

Oh look they finally took their head out of their asses and grew some folds in those dipshit smooth brains of theirs.

Makes total sense with the fact that development costs are ballooning out of control and pc gamers and console gamers don’t overlap too much. More people playing great games is always a plus.

We’ll not have another video game crash….well, maybe we will if companies keep insisting on GAAS….but we may be seeing the tail end of the console era.
Nintendo will still put out stuff. They hit gold with the Switch…a gameboy you can hook into the TV? Priceless. Sony gave up on handhelds. Microsoft….I don’t know what they’re thinking right now.
I think we’ll be seeing more stuff like the Steamdeck, though; portable ‘consoles’ that play PC games.
