You basically are using cardboard boxes as a test bench pc.

If it works, it works. The only issue is dust buildup.

Remember microatx has been a standard for almost 30 years, if you’ve got an ancient rig in the cupboard, maybe now is the time pull out the insides and build a sleeper.

Or just go get a case but that’s way less funny.

my pc lived on top of a shoe box for 2 weeks until I got a case. used wooden skewers to mount it

“Man this build is a lot cheaper than I planned it out to be. Wonder why.”

Contrary to popular belief a PC doesn’t need a case at all

  6. Rektonin

Just throw a towel over it. It’s fine probably

  7. Stoned_Savage

My first pc case was a finger shredder you are not a true builder until a build has tasted blood.

I’ve zipped tied my pc to a dishwashing rack, it was a pentium 4 lol back in the day.

Challenge: cut the boxes of motherboard, GPU, psu and use it as a case

    + Max airflow
    + 90% physical vulnerability 🗿

Get some plywood and make a wall mounted PC?

  12. imthebonus

Cases are overrated anyway, do you just jam a paper clip on the PSU to turn it on?

Just use big fan instead of 6 small ones

  14. KefkaFollower

    That’s the way.

Now, tell me about your air flow problems. 😉

No case means no blood sacrifice. The gods will not smile on this build.

Eh, that’s an ITX setup anyway, you can just put it into the motherboard box and call it a build.

  17. Haaaaa!!!! Same happened to me as well!!!!

I was configurating my PC, ordered all of the components and after I finished installing all I realized I need also a case for it….

Well – Amazon prime shipping is sometimes worth it’s money

Keep it on the card box from the MoBo or Graphicscard, watch out for dust and don’t go near your MoBo ever with any body part (electrostatic charge is the key word)
