Johnny has way more character development and you see his relationship with V evolve more. Jackie is definitely cool and all but he’s a typical character that’s written to make you love him so it’s a shocker when he dies. And most of their bonding is done in a montage. I gotta say Johnny imo.

Johnny and v alot of times butt heads but overall work well together and spend their time learning from each other and improving as a result. They do argue and fight but when push cones to shove they get the job done and save the drama for later.
Jackie and v while they make a good team when stress gets high they uncharacteristically start arguing with each other and snapping at each other. They didnt even make into the building at konpeki plaza and they were jumping at each other. They work well when the stakes arent high but high stakes the cracks show. Im not sure they really learn anything from each other either. They both just have their roles and settle into them. Like when dex says jackie is only good at some things and turns to v for the face to face with evelyn.
Both teams work well but in different scenarios, i think jack and v is a v is in charge and will handle.most jackie is muscle and is the emotional heart of the team
Johnny and v is a team of individuals. They both have their strengths and weaknesses and experiances and once they figure this out make a very strong team
So tldr i think johnny v would be able to handle a greater variety of jobs/missions and far higher difficulties as well

Jackie and V were for the longest time a preem duo always have each other’s back they were best friends. Johnny and Vs relationship is interesting even since their mind is merging with yours I think it uninteionaly more soft and less destructive. However you as the player control V ans his diologe for the most part and your views as an individual. You still have alot Influence over him or her.
I hated Johnny in the beginning and disagree with alot of things he says now as he gew softer and opened up I trust him more. So I’m more neutral on my stance would even say friends are what I would call are relationship.
In short I choose Jackie and V we were unstoppable for the most part had each other’s back.

Saved from getting shot to the head, immune to cyberpsychosis, always have a second opinion, literally a 2nd persona with incredible charisma to call upon with just a pill, impeccable musical (and art, that one time) knowledge, sick guitar skills… Johnny is probably the best brain parasite you can possibly get! If somehow Johnny was able to stay without killing V, think of the heights and shenanigans we would be getting into.
