and watch how many people freak out and blow this out of proportion, it’s already happening on Twitter/X…
UBeatMeAgain
That’s not good. How could that be good?
Extension-Novel-6841
Yes and I’m not too shocked at this. So far this gen has been cross gen titles and third party exclusives. It’s just been an average gen so far, maybe it’s time for me to go to PC.
notaweeb334
Now pay $170 for your ps plus
greentiger79
So, new IPs hopefully?
USAF_DTom
Might as well release Ghost of Tsushima on PC then. Got to make up that FY deficit, and that would definitely do it. Release that and Bloodborne and you could fund new IP’s probably lol.
spaceraingame
This is very good news. They’re shifting focus to new IPs like Rise of the Ronin and Stellar Blade.
ZazaB00
Feels really weird because originally Take 2 forecast GTA6 to come out this year, during some financial report predicting sales in the later half of 2024. Then the trailer dropped that 2025 number. I’m wondering if everyone steered clear of 2024 in response to that original forecast.
You take a look at 2023, and it was stacked with games. 2025 is starting to look like it’s going to be stacked with games. So, we have this weird 2024 where all we’re getting is indie titles and some new IP. Star Wars Outlaws is seemingly the only game that is relatively large and is confident in a 2024 launch window.
lemmywinks11
So Destiny 3 is coming in April of 2025
smokey_john
All this is saying it they won’t release any sequels to major franchises like Gow or Spiderman.
The only one that really had potential of coming this year was GoT 2 and that’s only if they consider it a “franchise” after on release
Many of their studios are working on new IPs and they have some smaller games from their smaller studios that could potentially release like another Astro bot game
They are starting off the year with publishing Helldivers 2, MLB, Rise of the Ronin and Stellar Blade and partenerd for FFVII Rebirth so that’s a pretty good start.
Concord is confirmed for later this year too
QueenDeadLol
Console fan boys are seething at their $600 paperweight 😂
MemorizedAxel
The Insomniac leak said Venom was aimed for 2025 so if that’s true I guess we know it’ll likely be back half of the year.
zirky
it’s like no one is even wanting to participate in the console war anymore

These comments are showing me I’m not a gamer anymore… this news has absolutely no effect on me
Gocrypalestine
So no Wolverine until 2025 ?
MidnightMillennium
Last year there was TOO many games released, my backlog just keeps getting bigger, even so there’s plenty of great games coming out
fritzo81
i got so many other games to play.
mSummmm
Is Housemarque working on a new IP or Returnal 2?
duffman182
Seems like Nintendo could run away with success this year for the Switch 2, assuming it launches this year, considering the state of where the competition is at in this same year. I mean no major PlayStation sequels or remakes to be excited for this year, and it’s looking very likely that major new Xbox titles will also see a Switch 2 version (along with of course a PS5 version).
patrickp4
Not surprising given almost all of their “major existing franchise” had releases in the past 3 years.
Josiah425
No Bloodbourne 2 🙁 lol I know its never actually coming but man I wish theyd do something with their Bloodbourne IP rights…
Turdsley
So no Ghost of Tsushima 2 until 2025?
baithoven22
Existing is the key word here. New IP go brrrrr….
LiferRs
Makes sense. Sony blew a huge load between 22-23, and we have so much content to churn through. I definitely feel like hanging back until 2025 works for me too.
According-Spite-9854
So like, redfall?
RyyKarsch
Bloodborne 2 May 2025 confirmed.
Dracodin1
I thought playstation had all the games? What did I buy a PS5 for then?
SamMerlini
Give me the Ghost of Tsushima.
TristanDuboisOLG
Helldivers 3 in May 2025???
Crymsyn_Moon
So no new games from existing franchises. What about old games from existing franchises? Release Bloodborne on pc you cowards!
gnomes4u
So… No Sly Cooper 5?
a20261
Oh, good, I’ll have some time to catch up!

The guy with the “is bloodborn on PC yet” will have another active year at least seems like.
No-Cash-9923
The realization that I won’t see another Uncharted sequel got me. I guess it’s finally time to dive into the sea of new IPs!
forhisglory85
That’s fine. I just bought a PS5, my first PS since the PS2. I think I have plenty of catching up to do with their exclusives.
hunter1899
Where are all of the PC ports??
Winter_Control8533
The quoted part implies they will release new major existing franchise titles before April 2025.
Kayy0s
More time for my backlog!
Mago6246
They don’t have anything left, already through in everything they have into this generation. Nothing to expect but more Remasters or Remakes, Sony ain’t Nintendo.
AgainstTheSky_SUP
Ghost of Tsushima 2
Jarnis
So they going to release some new franchises then, right?
…
Right?!?
elalexsantos
So no Bloodborne?
klauskinski79
“and developing live service games”
Urgh soon Nintendo will be the only company left that makes good normal games. Seems Microsoft has given up a long time ago. And Bethesda and Take2 take decades to make big games.
