Picture shows the base TTK without attachments. It does not take ADS or sprintout time into account, which would make the difference between the 762 and the BP50 / Ram 7 even bigger.
Ignoring the stats, handling of the 762 feels super slow and heavy and you get punished by the low fire rate pretty badly if you don’t hit your shots.
So my question is, why is the 762 favored by so many players? Not shitting on the weapon, I‘m just curious if I‘m missing something. Is it the headshot multiplier?

Damage at range and surprisingly good recoil, after the effective ranges of most rifles it overtakes by a pretty good amount

Yep, multipliers.
The Ram7 now has awful long range ttk, over a second.
The new BP50 is the better gun all round, as it’s so damn mobile whilst also having good ttk*(got to make a few new stuff OP to get those early battle pass sales going!)*
But the 762 is quite possibly the most viable long range gun now. It loses to chest ttk, sure.
But it has better stomach ttk, much better head shot damage, and better ttk to stuff like the legs also! All this combined, it means the average ttk is actually one of the best. If you get a headshot or two, you kill very fast, and if you accidentally hit the legs or stomach, it’s not as punishing.
It just reliably kills very fast at range.
Judging from the graph you posted, it has a consistent, slowly increasing TTK values across ranges, compared to BP50 that changes TTK constantly from around 25m to 45m (making it unreliable when it comes to consistent dmg) and RAM-7 TTK that increases sharply after around 50-55m and is pretty much useless at longer ranges unless you track well and get headshots.
Plus there are other factors that could make people prefer MTZ 7.62, including simply being used to it and knowing how to use it efficiently, 40 round mag glitch (that was patched but is still available to people who did it before the fix) and builds/attachments that work better than the other popular guns at certain scenarios.
The recoil is just too much for me, even with no optic and max recoil control attachments. I was first hour fanboy of the Amax, but this thing jumps too hard for me.
Edit: I think the combined ttk chart from the premium TDG website shows a more promising graph
Bp50 has 45 round mag with super fast fire rate. It’s great for taking out 1-2 players, but in extended fights you’re gonna be reloading a lot. Otherwise it straight up is the best gun of the 3 IMO.
Ram you can’t really use a sight or even a silencer due to recoil. It also drops off super hard past 50m. Really good for close to mid fights tho, so resurgence is super good.
Mtz kinda gives you a gun that isn’t really the best in any situation but is fairly good in all of them. Versatility is kinda where it’s at.
Tbh all good guns, and nothing too broken which is nice.
How does semi auto damage compare to full auto?
They nerfed it too far given recoil and fire rate. Man it used to slap and be so fun.
I hate bp50 being so good given how hideous it is 😄
It all depends on preference in my opinion regardless of ttk. I personally like the sva
762 pre-nerf in semi was an absolute god tier gun.
honestly it’s fine now. Nothing exceptional
Mtz rips man it just feels good
They really nerfed the bas b for this?
Whats wrong with multiple guns having sub 700ms?
Before the single shot nerf, it had a stupid fast ttk. I don’t think it’s a great choice in full auto.
Most fights in this game are from 50m and in, so I really think the RAM should still be king. But if you are playing with longer range in mind looks like you should be using the BP-50.
Do u even have this set to combination shots? The ram drops off hard as fuck after like 50m
Can you please include the SVA burst.
The only reason that matters is cuz it SLAPS hard and makes you feel like a boss when you shoot it. Yeah the BP50 is cool, but feels like you are shooting an airsoft gun. The MTZ feels like you are charging into battle with Zues’s lightning bolt striking down your enemies before your own inevitable end when you have to reload
The range and drop off for these ARs is ridiculous. Its obvious Activision is trying to push cqc where AA does 99% of the work and it becomes a game of algorithm vs algorithm depending on who saw the other guy first.
I was using the 762 before season 2. It just feels really good. It’s great for trios. I won’t use it for quads.
No recoil and high bullet velocity. It’s certainly not great but all guns suck in this game so it is what it is.
