I found most of the optional/secret bosses in DS1 more difficult than the final boss.

Also this use of the meme is consistently funny. Yhorm the Giant falls over flat to the Ashen One, but everyone uses the meme the opposite way

Dark Souls 3, its in the picture? Nameless king and midir

Elden Ring
Secret bosses: Dragonlord Placidusax and Malenia (even though she isn’t really secret she is optional)
Final boss: Radagon/Elden Beast
GoldenDonut01
Literally dark souls 3 – the image the meme is taken from. Nameless king could be seen as the true final boss since you’re likely to only find it on a second playthrough.
Mindofthequill
I always loved the super bosses in the Xenoblade games that were way more insane to fight than the end game boss. Only down side is they weren’t as flashy just more challenging.
Hard to beat fighting a God in space and then the super boss is just a cool dragon on a mountain top.

I find it funny when the opposite turns out to be the case. One game like that is Bloodborne. The Moon Presence is significantly easier than >!Gherman The First Hunter!<, mostly because the latter is much faster and harder to manage than the bulky and slow MP.

Ultrakill. Minos prime and Sisyphus prime are harder than Gabriel

Halo infinite fighting the Harbinger, that boss was easy.. it’s the brute chieftain that spawn’s during it that’s hard.

I always liked the super bosses in Final Fantasy X.
There’s a world ending threat in the story then there’s just some guy that lets you fight things a hundred times more powerful for fun.

Defiled Amygdala from Bloodborne. It took me a week to beat her and not even Orphan of Kos gave me so much trouble. She’s part of these things callled chalice dungeons that are away from the main game and I the one she is in, there is a special effect that halves your health. She has a lot of moves to one shot you because of this so your fighting has to be near perfect.

Pretty much every Final Fantasy game I’ve played.
In FFX, Penance is harder than anything else in the game and he’s completely optional (and not even present in the original game iirc)

Always a Final Fantasy. Final Fantasy 10 has so many extra bosses, like the dark aeons and then Penance. And they’re all insanely geared up compared to the final boss.
