I bought my motherboard and SSD from Amazon. I was relieved when I opened the box and everything was fine. Had it delivered to a locker to minimise the opportunities for them to screw it up lol

Same happened to me. I received bootleg Pokemon cards instead of my CPU and amazon made me return them to process my refund (international shipping btw)
Once they arrived, they sent me a notification email saying that they received the wrong item, despite talking multiple times with support about this.
I still got the refund though (4 months later), but I’m never buying from Amazon again.

Stop buying hardware from Amazon. It sucks because I have seen a lot of people get their stuff stolen due to the fact that many times they don’t package the goods, the stick a shipping label on the GPU box.
And sometimes someone at Amazon just takes the GPU and drops something random like in this post.

People weigh the boxes when they arrive, replace the contents and return them, because most Amazon returns aren’t checked by a person, just weighed and sent out to the next person who orders the thing.
I’m not suggesting you do this, and you definetly shouldn’t use a fake Amazon business account for a business you registered somewhere weird to do it.

Took them. 4 months to get me a refund and I was shipped two boxes of masks.
There’s some specific scam with the 5800x3d. I ordered one like a year ago and got a camera lens screen protector. I spent like an hour talking to amazon support trying to get them to admit it’s an obvious scam. They wouldn’t but they gave me a refund when and asked me to mail back the item. I don’t know why they waste money by letting these things continue.

I got an iPhone camera glass lens protector for a 7800x3d. They told me to keep it and just sent me an actual 7800x3d. I guess some Amazon employee made off with the first one.

When i ordered my 1070 around the time it released the delivery driver asked my mum who was in at the time to check the box because it was very light. Yup, empty box, he took it back and we contacted amazon support and they sent a replacement and arrived next day

OP, get ready for a nightmare. What’s gonna happen is once you return it, Amazon is gonna claim you didn’t ship back the original item and deny the return. You will have to fight it for a few months and potentially lose.
Userbenchmark would rank that above the 5800X3D, if that helps.
