Reminder that this was based on a comic book which itself was a spin off of the comic witch blade. So if you’re absolutely desperate for more darkness content you may want to give the darkness comics and witch blade comics a go

The first **The Darkness** was definitely better than the second!

Loved that game. Absolutely hated the ending. Made everything pointless.

Really enjoyed what I played of this game but it made me SO SICK🤣 The two snakes that appeared above your head really messed with me. I think my brain had issues deciding whether to look at the moving landscape or the two still snakes up close. Disappointing.

Would love to see this series revisited one day.

I remember having my mind blown by this game when I played it on 360. There was a scene where you sit on the couch with your girlfriend and watch To Kill a Mockingbird on TV. It’s the entire movie. You can sit on that couch and watch your character and his girlfriend, watch To Kill a Mockingbird for the entire length of the movie, if you so choose. There is even an achievement for watching a certain amount of the movie.

this is one of my top3 7gen games from x360
it was so ahead of its time with details like blood actually falling to the ground (not just appearing there), the fact that if you slightly pushed trigger your character does it as well or automatically moving hand with gun away from cover to shot. not to mention all the stuff in tv to watch. besides it was just super good fps, great story meaty combat and gameplay plus it was pretty hard. unlike 2nd one which was a huge disappointment to me… ye ye i know it wasnt bad but of you expect a sequel to some dark game and kinda get a parody in cellshading you have right to be disappointed

I’m guessing people didn’t like the second one that much? It obviously didn’t beat the first but I still liked it. Personally I like the back and forth between Jackie’s internal and external conflicts.

The scenes where’s he’s telling stories while chilling on a chair, immersive storytelling (literally).

Such a great game. Unfortunately there’s no chance of a game ever coming out to carry on the legacy- 2k is invested into microtransactional sport games along with any other AAA pubs.

This game represents a time when video games were sold as a final product that had love and soul poured into them. The gameplay, the art style, narrative and overall story line were absolutely fucking phenomenal. I still remember playing it the Christmas I got my 360 and was so scared to play it I had to bring my cousin in the room to watch it. Such an immersive game that was way ahead of its time.

    Long live Jackie Esticatto

I feel like a lot of Top Cow’s comics translate to games really well. For awhile I’ve thought they should make a real effort to start a little video game version of their universe. Darkness, Witchblade, Magdalena, Aphrodite IX, even if they don’t put much into cross overs or big event stories it could still work out pretty well.

I loved the first game, its graphics were amazing for the time and gameplay was gory and fun. I will never forget the part were you watch helplessly your girlfriend getting killed. I was hyped for the sequel, but when I saw the graphics I was really disappointed…

The Darkness 2 left us on such a big cliffhanger that it should have been illegal. I’m kidding, but seriously, wtf.

I agree , both games and the comics were fantastic and I really wish we would get more.

I don’t want a new one until they remaster/remake the first one. It sucks that the only way to play it is on the older gen consoles

This series is def in my top favorite

Absolutely love The Darkness (and it’s sequel). It’s probably my favorite game from the 7th generation of consoles. There are so many elements that worked so well together. It’s replayed it once a year until the sequel came out, then I replayed the sequel until I upgraded to my PS4. I wish there could at least be a remaster for modern consoles.

Just finished it a couple months ago. I could not believe it had an entire movie in it and I watched that as well!

BTW, the PS3 version has far more content than the 360 one. I have them both.

2 ended with a biggest fucking tease to never be…
