What a strange interaction, it’s fully voiced and everything. No quest markers, just a dialogue choice you can have with a homeless man on a street in Watson.

No idea what else can be done with it, I think V mentioned being able to sell it, but this feels far more interesting. What a story for him to tell!

Its a good chance to reflect on your past choices.

And the fact that getting the medal requires you to make (arguably) the wrong choice, so all you got for helping Myers was a trinket to pass on to a hobo on the street.

There’s a dialogue with Reed where he reminisces on the time Songbird got her first medal with the NUSA and gave it away to a homeless man. This option alludes to that.

That’s what I did haha. Awesome choom.

I gave it to Alex as proof of V’s death so the NUSA will leave her alone.

Usually this npc (and others like him) says “spare a veteran some change ?” and you can give them 5 eddies (blue dialogue).

Iirc in the street kid prologue, there’s a similar interaction where you can call out a homeless guy posing as a veteran and asking for money.

So you can headcanon 2 choices :

    – Truly believe that the homeless is really a veteran and you give him the medal as some sort of recognition for his years of service.

    – Just give the medal to the homeless so he can get money out of it.
