For me to that would be Sovereign. I know his speech word for word, and I ask every question before moving on with the mission.

Honestly all the stuff in Mass Effect and other similar games.

Like I personally cannot imagine playing a cinematic, story focused game, and then skipping the cinematic and story aspects of it. Like… why would I even be playing it then? These games do not feature amazing gameplay. Like if I wanted to just turn off my brain and do some action, I’d pick a completely different genre.

Sovereign is an excellent pick. I still remember the feeling of dread I experienced back in the day.

Another very recent one: freeing the Nightsong in BG3.

Xcom 2 gatecrasher intro, it’s so good.

Also red alert 2 yuris revenge intro with the harriers.

A recent one from Armored Core 6. Cutscene before you fight the pilot you stole the license from. “Let’s see how far they can fly, on borrowed wings”

G-man monologue in HL2, still gives me chills!

  8. Cheap-Tax-1308

Halo 3, when Truth tells humanity they are vermin, it’s been some years so I forget exactly but that dialogue gets me so amped

  9. CursedSnowman5000

The Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance opening cinematic.

All of the Max Payne cutscenes

The game just feels like a Noir classic when played thoroughly. And for the voice actor ( rest in power) to also be the character likeness and part of the development team. Legendary gaming man.

Any of them. This is when I get high.

  12. Soft-Stage-1013

MGS3 The cutscene before the fight with Boss in the flower field. So emotional.

Ron Perlman fallout 3 intro. War… War never changes.

  18. Chickenman452

All Raphael’s scenes in balder’s gate 3. He is just oozing bad guy energy and I can’t get enough of it!!

  19. Skulysoul

Gherman’s last monologue from Bloodborne. Everything, from the way he stands up, to him quickly assembling his scythe, it’s too good to just skip.

  20. Spenjo9917

The cutscene from Cuphead with King Dice and The Devil when you first enter Inkwell Isle 3

  21. Mistic-Instinct

All of them? I replay games for the story as well as the gameplay

  22. Necroph02

Intro parachute scene in the first Dying light. I don’t even know if it’s skippable. It doesn’t look skippable but I’ve never wanted to skip it, it’s just so beautiful

  23. AutomaticAstigmatic

I don’t skip anything unless I’ve seen it umpteen times.

Yes, Melania, I know you’re the blade of Miquella, and, yes, you have never known defeat. Don’t think that’s likely to change this round either, is it?

  24. OptionalGuacamole

The Old World Blues DLC for Fallout New Vegas grinds to a stand-still right at the start with an incredibly long dialogue section with the Think Tank. It’s honestly kinda bad from a game-design standpoint, but the the writing and voice acting are so great, I always end up listening to all of it.

  25. doglywolf

    MG5s Quite scenes for….attention to detail .

  26. Kingdom Hearts 2, when Squall and Cloud team up for the first and only time in history. “Think you can handle this many?”

  27. HarveytheWhiteRabbit

Hawkeye Gough cutscene in Dark Souls 1 where he shoots the black dragon Kalameet out of the sky. Such an awesome cutscene!

  28. RubiconRO

Sovereign was the only villain in any game I played to this point that made me feel so… insignificant, low and unworthy of anything. Amazing lines.

  29. Suddenly_Something

Any cutscene made by Blizzard. Their games may have fallen off, but their cinematics and cut scenes are always top tier.

  30. Magnetic_Eel

I never skip cutscenes. What is wrong with you people? Do you fast forward through movies as well?

  31. redditanon9285

South Parks Stick of Truth when Cartman berates you for trying to skip his dialogue.

On a more serious note though, can never find the strength to skip Arthur’s goodbye to his horse in RDR2.

  32. I never skip cutscenes, even dialogues. I feel that if I am not 100% invested, then its not worth playing.
