Do high schools still have kids reading Hemingway? I figured at the very least we all read The Old Man and the Sea.

NOT GONNA LIE FAM it’s a little bit of a bittersweet downer. It’s good literature, for the most part, though, if you’re able to pick up the context of the times (an American will have almost no idea what’s going on unless they were a huge history nerd).

For Whom the Bell Tolls is one of my favorites from Hemingway. Touches on themes of duty, loyalty, love and finding/whether there is meaning in war and death.
