Very surprising if this turns out to be true. I know a lot of people assumed that if any Xbox exclusives went to PlayStation it would be the tier of games like Hi-Fi Rush, not the big hitters like Starfield.

Makes sense. I’ve had my issues with the game, but a lot of people still love it and I am always in favor of games being less exclusive. I hope future Bethesda titles still end up landing on other platforms.

I’m just not understanding the thinking here. Gamepass is not on PlayStation so they won’t be growing it by putting Starfield on PS. Less people have a reason to get an Xbox and hence have no reason to sub to Gamepass. They just want to increase revenue by cannibalising console sales?

It looks like we’re going to be getting loads of xbox games, LOL. I won’t be playing this coz it just looks meh. Plus i’ve got a big enough backlog of Sony studio games which I know are going to be amazing…. coz they’ve had massive reviews and gamers have loved them.
Maybe when there’s an amazing AAA title from Microsoft studios i’ll play it, but so far, can anyone point me to a game Microsoft have put out this generation which is actually amazing?

So basically Microsoft could’ve simply made deals with Bethesda, which they did a lot of times, to have the game time exclusive for a year like Sony did with Deathloop for example, and plus they could’ve even asked to have the game exclusive on Game Pass, so zero chance to see it on another on demand service. Instead no, they wasted billions and laid off a bunch of people just because they wanted to use the infinite money cheat.

So Microsoft buy half the gaming industry, make IP’s and studios we grew up on exclusive then remove the exclusivity after they don’t wow everyone.

I wonder if they’re just doing this so they have something to point to when people want Elder Scrolls 6 until we’ve seen how they will drop the ball on it, and they can say ‘ we tried putting out starfield on ps5, but nobody bought it’ — yes, after it was a confirmed flop.
Don’t get me wrong. I want exclusivity to end, across platforms. Ahem. NINTENDO. (The actual biggest culprit of exclusivity in the industry)
I want Xbros to get to enjoy some of PS’s best. I also don’t want the studios MS has swallowed up to be shackled as gamepass content slaves forever.
