Having temperature-throttle problems with my new (used) 3070, no matter the settings always goes straight to 80°C under load and throttles…

The card is fine at idle (30° with fans on, ~45° fans off) and under low load, however when gaming or even worse benchmarking the card immediately goes up to 80° and starts to throttle the clock speeds. I tried an imo save unvervolt to 1890@875mv but temp still goes up with a power draw of about 175w. Even if I go as low as to target 1750Mhz clock speed only the card hits 80° and throttles again. Power draw is pretty similiar and doesn´t scale as I expected it.

Any thoughts if the card could be faulty? Its the ASUS “Megalodon” which is a china exclusive as far as I´m aware but a reasonably big triple fan model, case is a fractal torrent so airflow should be premium

Stay away from ASUS dude, they’re not quality at all! Repaste it and pray, or consider getting a replacement cooler
