This is funny because you know everyone’s going to keep buying nVidia anyway so the Empire wins.

    Reminder, the 4080 is actually just a 4070 priced as a 4080ti

Soon as I heard about the super cards I was like I’ll wait for that 4080S to drop so AMD can lower the price on the 7900XTX & can snag a deal!!

These AMD babies just won’t stop crying. I know you purchase the card and now you have to support it for the rest of your life, but Nvidia just provides better software support, better dlss, frame generation and marginally if not the better fps on day 1. Not only that, most devs make their games around Nvidia gpus. The only reason AMD still exists is because United States Defence needed a second processor manufacturer apart from Intel.

The 4080S is the gaming better GPU though

The 7900xtx is 9% faster for raster and has more VRAM (But for gaming, 16GB is enough)

The 4080S has better RT, better upscaling (FSR<XESS<TSR<DLSS), better power efficiency, the Nvidia suite if relevant to you

The 7900xtx isnt always significantly cheaper, and the efficiency difference can eliminate that

It should be at least 20% cheaper to be justified, there are some games you cant play on the XTX (AW2 & Cyberpunk with PT)

I love how Nvidia can get absolutely trashed on Reddit but you can’t say anything about AMD or you get downvoted into oblivion lmao, the 4080S has its place and some big advantages over the 7900XTX like RT, DLSS and a more refined frame gen system. The 7900XTX has its place but it’s pretty damn clear with the 4080 price drop that the 7900XTX has some catching up to do, I’m not sure how a $200 price drop with a slight performance boost would do anything but help Nvidia.

Why do amd fans have persecution complex

I think the fight looks more like this.. A pretty even duel. The 7900xtx would have to drop in price below $900 to have a chance to win. Nvidia tech definitely is now a huge factor as the prices are so similar. We are now talking about sacrificing better tech (DLSS/FG/RT) and power consumption for a 5% price difference. On the other hand there is more pure FPS per dollar with the 7900xtx. This decision could only be made by the person using the card. Very even fight.

nvidia has better temperature and less power draw, along with better drivers and compatibility, in the long run their products last longer than amd.

Xtx needs to be at least 200$ cheaper minimum for this to be competitive. Most people who are willing to fork up 900$+ for a gpu just for gaming do and should care about RT performance and frame gen.

Who keeps on doing these memes? It was funny for a while but these just keep on coming.

The 4080s is a better card by far. Even the standard 4080 is better than the 7900xtx.

    XTX owner here.

In my humble opinion,Nvidia knows they could’ve just price dropped the regular RTX 4080 to 999$ or less, but it makes less sense for them

It’s a pretty baller marketing move from Nvidia’s prespective to essentially re-release the 4080 as a Super card.

Remember the RTX 3080 12GB which no one bet an eye on since it was a quiet launch? it’s much more of an upgrade than the 4080S is ironically, and it came when prices began to drop, and helped stabalize the price of the old RTX 3080 at the time.

But no one cared because of marketing. People still thought it was too expensive, despite being slightly cheaper than most retail 3080s were going for. Nvidia didn’t make a big deal out of it and so did consumers.

Whereas now we had people waiting for months in advance,pre-ordering and day one buying the awaited Super card, which also makes Nvidia seem more “generous” since they’re releasing a refresh for less money.

Plus,it’s 2% slower in raster and 30+% faster in RT than the XTX for the same price while being much more effecient and supporting more features. You’d be stupid buying the XTX untill the price drops.

DLSS/DLAA alone makes most people choose NVIDIA. In modern games the ONLY antialiasing is TAA, which is a blurry mess.

  16. I take DLSS + Path Tracing and working drivers over +5% raster performance anyday.

  17. as a 7900XTX owner with very frequent crashes, this does not feel accurate

  18. Comprehensive_Ad5475

Did AMD finally stopped releasing bugged drivers? The main problem I had with AMD cards was the constant feeling of fear before updating their drivers.

I buy Nvidia because my favorite color is green
