Optimal distance to peek in any FPS game.

Further away you are, smaller a target you are.

Smaller you are, the less of a target you’re presenting before you yourself can see around the corner.

This isn’t the biggest issue I see from newer FPS players though. Slow peaking is the most common one I see.

I always laugh, when i see someone peak a corner slowly….

You see their arm, and the shoulder slowly come around the corner, whilst they think they are being all tactical and sneaky sneaky… Whilst their whole face is still behind the wall, they can’t see shit, but you’re already shooting their arms.

If you don’t bother thinking about distance from a corner.

At least do one thing, peak fast! In – out. No delay, no slow sideway strafe.

You either want to be fully in cover, or looking around the corner, cut out as much time in-between as you can.

If you really have to peak, then peak right. Less character model will show when peeking right.
