Keep in mind as well that Lex hates Supes because he thinks with him around, humanity will stop trying to improve and better themselves.
So why is he suddenly gushing over an inhuman saviour of humanity who’s from a primitive society with child soldiers?
This very much seems in line with his character, though.

I don’t know much about the game’s universe but I thought it was an alternate reality where the good guys are bad and the bad guys are good. Is that wrong?

See I always thought of Luthor like this. Yes he is selfish and evil, but overall his primary goal is to see humanity expand. He doesn’t hate superman because he saves people and is so powerful. He hates superman because he is an alien protecting humanity, preventing humanity from learning to protect themselves, and because he has so many aspects that Luthor envies. The amazons from earth, they are part of humanity. They are not some race of demigods from space.
