Any source on the ESRB aspect here? Because they can’t ban anything. They are a private entity, not the government. There are other games that have more graphic things than this. Including suicides.

I mean I get why they banned it, but also… It’s a video game literally about killing people. I don’t think I would have noticed it after like the first or second time seeing it. I would have been too busy being angry that I died, or making sure the downed guy doesn’t kill me.

They don’t have the power to do that. They could just refuse to give it the rating the developer wants.

It’s weird, this wouldn’t have been the first game to feature on screen suicide. Hell, there were suicide animations in other games that were much more brutal than this and they were still rated M.

Miss this game. Black OPs 1 CTF was the last good version of CTF I’ve seen in an FPS. Both flags pulled with the flag carriers running ghost/cold-blooded so they could hide from UAVs made for an epic cat and mouse chase culminating in a dash for the flag and dolphin diving to win the game.
Haven’t felt that rush in a while.
