Windows defender stops more false positives on my end, mainly because I know better. I had a rootkit once years ago, that was like my last straw with being diligent. Haven’t had an issue since and the only reason I got the root kit was cause it was on a hard drive I shouldn’t have connected to.

I mean it not the best and there is a lot to desire from it. Namely it’s transparency with what it’s currently doing. When it’s scanning something, you don’t know where it is in its progress, there is just a useless bar. When it finds something, it doesn’t tell you the path to it and so on. But as far as it’s detection rates go, it’s up there with the good ones. And it takes barely any resources on the PC. It’s definitely miles ahead of some paid ones, like mcAfee, norton and such.
