This is depressing, especially now with the microsoft merger. I would say, time to make my own zombies game, but Unity fucked us indie devs too. These fucking patents are to stop indie devs with immeasurable lawsuits, and pry money from their playerbase. We aren’t playing anymore, we are being played. They will use all this data to asses decision making and provide lowest expectation they can. Data driven decision making is a race to the bottom.
A decade ago, I thought in the future there will be an open source community driven FPS, where people created maps, guns, etc, and everyone debated about balancing and improvements. We’d all push little code revisions and updates. Like, an organic community, with a common idea; let’s make this game the funnest game ever.
How fucking drastically wrong was I. I didn’t think I’d be playing a game where an illiterate fat ass Nicki Menaj was a higher priority than actually having game content.
