Am I the only one getting rather bored with photo-realistic graphics? All games are starting to look the same nowadays.

Dead island 2 was really nice looking honestly, and felt fun to play. I enjoyed my time with it, and when I get a physical copy I really wanna check out the DLC.

Only thing I found is the reflections at times.

With certain framing and lighting conditions, sure. But you can quickly find shots that don’t look half as convincing, especially in motion. (This is true of most games, not just DI2).

I just wish that game had more changes in scenery as opposed to mostly L.A. houses and suburbs, honestly.

When you need to fix the pipes but you dont’ want to remodel the whole bathroom 💀

anyone else prefer life like character models and brilliant animations over pretty environments? I feel like they’re the key in making a game truly realistic since I would instantly lose immersion anytime a character looks or feels off 😂

for a moment i didn’t realize it was a game

I loved Dead Island 2. It definitely feels different than the first games, but in most ways it feels much better. I just wished the Crit zones for weapons were randomized, and not set per weapon. I want a head hunter revolver, a frenzy sledgehammer, a maimer knife, etc.

Dead Island 2 really grew on me and I ended up liking it more than Dying Light 2. Also it’s gore and visuals are underrated.
The reason that nowadays games look ultra real is that the lighting technology is really getting to the places. Even with plastic looking props, if the light and reflection do their job good, the whole scene looks surreal.
You dont realize it when you first time see it, and you only realize how good they are when you switching to a game that has crappy pre-baked lighting effect.

Man I’m so sad the release basically flew under the radar, especially now since I refuse to acknowledge the sellouts that made Dying Light

The building zones with paint roller trays made me stop and look at them as they are so well designed

Looks good until you realize there’s no reflectionsÂ

[Unrecord](https://youtu.be/N436Ji0IMLM?si=egoGsUg67LDmPfkB) looks insane as well.
