All of Remedy’s games. It’s such a treat when you’ve played most of them and the lore goes so deep.

Fallout is easily the top one for me. Loved the lore & universe since I first played Fallout 2 back in 90’s.
Edit: love the picture!

Call me basic fromsoft games, dark souls, bloodborne and the others have just such a prominent community in that regard some things are pulled out of their Assessment but even that can be interesting how individuals would interpret some level Designs and so on

Fallout,Halo and They are equals all the books and movies cannot quench my thirst

The whole backstory of Outer Wilds is just heartwarming and gut wrenching at the same time. Especially when you add the DLC into the mix.

In spite of only playing a couple of them, Mega Man.
It’s interesting to see how our view of robots/androids/artificial people has evolved as our ability to build them has. Similar story with Transformers, in the comics they once saved Optimums Prime’s brain onto a floppy disk, probably wouldn’t work these days.

Elder Scrolls: Morrowind.
I swear, explaining Dagoth Ur’s inverse soul world-is-an-extension-of-himself shit to a girlfriend will get me institutionalized.
Planescape: Torment is a close second. I swear, Obsidians old boomer writers left so many things to discover.

I am not big on single-player games. That doesn’t mean I don’t like a good story. Tiptoetank has a youtube lore channel, and they have gotten me excited about a lot of stories. My current favorite one is the Remedyvers. So Alan Wake and Control currently. Doom’s (2016 and eternal) lore is really good, too.

FNAF. I know it’s a boring pick but I’m talking the lore from fnaf 1 till help wanted 1, security breach was terrible for the games lore but to be fair ruin and help wanted 2 kinda fixed it…. Kinda.

You realise the sample was from Xen, the rescue team turns out to be a cleanup, theres the shocking discovery that creatures from Xen have been bought back to be studied and so on.
It’s deep, interesting and there are revelations throughout.
